It was a hard fought battle. The M3's did lead at one point running 1st and 2nd into the final laps of the race. However, the BMW's opted not to change tires which is what propelled them to the front gambling that they would be able to hold off the competition on fresh tires on the tight course.
The BMW team was not able to hold off the 911 RSR and the Corvette who finished 1st and second respectively.
BMW is now second in the manufacturer standings and in very good shape being just a point down from first place.
