  • VWBoost member hits 473 wheel horsepower in his MKVI Jetta GLI with modified APR Stage 3+ kit and USP Motorsports upgraded LPFP

Congratulations to VWBoost member pattrick02 whose MKVI Jetta GLI put down a very impressive 473 wheel horsepower on a dynojet dyno. This car has a modified APR Stage 3+ upgrade but really it is the fueling upgrades that make this amount of power possible. The HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) and LPFP (low pressure fuel pump) system were both modified by USP Motorsports in order to give the fuel system enough of a bump to support this amount of power.

The upgrades to the LPFP system were to add a second in-tank low pressure pump. The high pressure pump was modified to flow more efficiently. The other changes are a new tune and MS109 race gas. The head is still stock so there is still a little more to extract from this setup and cracking 500 wheel certainly is feasible.

    Very nice work @pattrick02 !

Though I know the guy with the EFR turbo (and the weird name I don't feel like spelling correctly) went from uni to eurodyne and ended up making less power but that was with RAI tuning it, i'm sure USP is probably a bit better on that front.
zjjww235434w lol. That guy has an EFR 7163. I'm so jealous of him LOL. Too bad he's only at like 360whp Click here to enlarge.

I think I know who that guy you guys are talking about is. He switched over and somehow made less power. Not really sure what's going on there.

If I did go Eurodyne sometime in the future, I'm sure Chris could get it figured out. He knows his stuff like nobody else. And he has tuned various cars with Eurodyne. There's also Crispeed that actually does a lot of tuning around the area, including Chris Green's S4. The guy is a genius.

Chris, chris. Is that the guy with the MKV that has the 3582? 550whp or something lol.

Hmmm, don't know of that Chris. Chris Green is owner of USP Motorsports. Crispeed is from AWD Motorsports, also local down here in South Florida. They've built and tuned numerous and numerous amounts of high hp drag monsters.

Have you installed the manifold yet? once you do that, I think you gotta go to eurodyne lol

What difference is this manifold making?

Much more flow. I'm not sure but it might have meth bungs as well. Maybe good for another 20whp or so and smoother delivery.

There's a nice increase in the power curve overall, and turbo spools a bit quicker. Hopefully I will have the tune done by tonight, or tomorrow. And if so, back to the track again tomorrow night! 11.3's and under, here we come!

Better flow for sure. Unfortunately my exhaust manifold and specially the turbo are almost at its limits. And no meth bungs for me. I'm staying away from that. Hopefully I will get everything in check by tomorrow, and I will have more info to post!

I haven't. Last time I went wast he 11.4 pass. In the past few weeks, yes. Nothing crazy though. Finally getting around to installing a wideband gauge in the car. New tune to go with the manifold will be on the car this weekend, or early next week the latest.

      These came in:

I am now just waiting on brackets and sliders. Should be a nice weight reduction compared to the 50lb OEM seats.

And the head is almost done, finally.

10's are coming, soon! Within the first half of next year you'll be seeing low 10's. Guaranteed.

Cool stuff coming! Keep it up. Did you ever upload the vids from Monday night? I heard you beat that Z06 on your way home.

      thanks for the update Pat!

can't wait to see the number difference between the before and after of the heads. If it's anything decent whoever is doing your head may have just landed themselves in a pretty lucrative aftermarket niche, one that really has no competitors with a mass market.

with the new tune, you're making the jump to eurodyne right?

Thanks Justin! My buddy put together a quick video. It only goes up to 3:40. I'm not sure what happened to the rest...it's all just black..but all the runs from the night are there. And yeah, we beat the Z06 on the way back home. Click here to enlarge

      Anytime buddy.

I'm super curious as well to see what difference the head will make. I'm honestly scared that there will be almost no max power difference, just due to the fact that my turbo is already at it's limits. I'm sure it will help the already awesome power curve, though. But it will be a great base for when I upgrade the turbo.

If they can get this head right, for sure that's going to be something huge! No one else has even gotten close to getting it right. Not even APR. APR is just now starting to figure out FSI heads, let alone TSI.

The new tune is actually no huge changes. I'm just getting new coding for the flapper deletes, and some air/fuel adjustments to getting everything running well. So once again, I don't think max hp will change, but I definitely think it will help the power curve. As for the tune, I'm still sticking to stock ECU with APR/USP tune. No Eurodyne.

damn you beat up some cars in that pretty badly. The z06 sounded like it may have had at least an exhaust? Was that 1m stock?

car's a beast pat, good job.
