
Now, on paper, the M3 should make quick work of this C63 which is not making over 600 wheel horsepower. The weight savings measure on the C63 help but not enough to overcome the supposed power disparity. The end result is 11.2@125 for the supercharged M3 versus 11.0@125 for the C63.
The M3 simply is not making the power it is claiming on the dyno and that is why it lost. An ESS-VT1 535 supercharged M3 running less boost without an intercooler only ran 2 MPH slower at the same strip on the same day. The video is a good educational piece on the difference between racing on the dyno with inflated graphs for bragging rights and in the real world.
