• Porsche releases new Cayenne S Diesel with 4.2 liter twin turbo V8 offering 382 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque

Here is the S version of the Cayenne Diesel which sports an awesome 382 horsepower and 627 pound-foot of torque twin turbo 4.2 liter V8. The standard Cayenne Diesel in comparison (which is coming to the USA) gets a paltry 240 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque turbo 3.0 liter six-cylinder. So are we getting this awesome diesel model in the United States? The answer to that question unfortunately is no.

How come? Porsche says it can not justify the expense of bringing it over as it likely would not sell enough. It also has not not been developed to be emissions compliant with American diesel regulations stated a Porsche spokesperson, "This product is not currently planned for the United States market as it has not been developed to meet local emissions requirements."

PorscheBoost strongly disagrees as if the standard Cayenne Diesel is a big seller (and it will be) why wouldn't the way more enticing V8 version sell as well? It seems the mentality still exists that Europeans want diesel motors and Americans do not. Let's hope Cayenne Diesel sales change Porsche's minds.

I think they learned their lesson with the Toureg V10 diesel. That V8 sounds like a sick powerplant. Love diesel.
