GIAC releases MKVI GTI and GLI 250Q Stage I and II dual clutch DSG transmission software

Here is a very cool release from GIAC who just released software to tweak the 250Q DSG transmissions such as those found in the MKVI GTI and the GLI. The software is available in two stages. The first of which is obviously more mild but provides smoother clutch engagement, launch control set at 3400 rpm, and a remapped sport mode which will hold gears longer and also protects over the transmission overheating.

The Stage II is where things start to get really interesting. It also features smoother and faster clutch engagement but raises the launch control rpm to 3700. The rev limiter is bumped to be compatible with tunes that raise it. The sport mode is also re-calibrated in a similar manner to the Stage I. And lastly, the torque limits are raised to 368 pound-feet for those making a bit more power.

Very cool to see someone tweaking the VW DSG software. Oh, and GIAC is capable of delivering custom Stage III software for custom applications which will obviously come at a different price. Specs are below.
