    • Cobb Stage 2 tuned BMW 335i races a tuned Boss Mustang 5.0 from a stop

Here we have three runs between a Cobb Stage 2 tuned BMW 335i and a tuned Boss Mustang from a stop. The first run has both cars approaching a light and the Boss gets on it first and pulls steadily away. On the second run there appears to be some miscommunication during the honks and the 335i gets a large jump with the Boss being unable to run it down. The third run seems to be the cleanest with a nice launch from the 335i but the Boss makes up ground before the 335i lets off.

The Mustang seems to be the faster car up top but we are unsure what mods are on it or if the 335i has any additional bolt ons. Both are definitely quick and the Mustang's V8 sounds great.

They need to stage up a bit better... Still that 5.0 is strong

Stage 2 is just DPs, so the car isn't FBO (no FMIC). It's also possible the guy is using the generic shelf maps, which will be a much more conservative tune than an AutoTune'd JB4 with the same mods

Hehehe... But walking 5.0 GT's is a done deal for me. Blown or Turbo GT's will be my next problem.

Just a friends GT with Brembos, 3.73 gears a full exhaust and canned tune. Near even from 30mph to about 100mph. Then I pull in front getting my rear bumper in front of his front bumper by 130ish. 3 runs and that's the best. The other ones I still get in front but by smaller margins. It's very close, he has a Boss intake and a good tune now. He is faster for sure...

Bama tune on the 5.0? I know that's the really popular flash that people are running & the run some package where you can get the tuner, the Boss intake mani & CAI for $1.3k

The more I beat on it the worse it got. Keep in mind I switched to a true ram air intake setup which does not show in my dyno numbers. You have to tune for it but it shines on the highway at higher speeds. Coupled with the tune I'd guess I'm making another 10-15hp extra and the power is now fully put down. It's noticeably faster now vs then. Once I get my blower it should be another ball game especially if I go with Meth. That should yield low 600's

I expect however I won't do meth no money for it so expecting 565-580rwhp with the cam. Sould be good fun

To me, it feels like my BOSS 302 would run right in between my STOCK M3 and P31 C63

Id like to run a 60-130 with it.
never did with the M3 but stock seems to be above 12sec
        my C63 P31 was running 9.7-10.4 average

So im guessing the boss would be in the 11's stock

i re=watched our runs, and it does appear that as we ran more, you went from pulling on me, to me pulling on you, very slightly.

5.0 with a full exhaust meaning headers and back alone with a tune is an easy 118 car. A boss stock can hit 115-116 no problem. Hell one of the 5.0 guys just went 10.9 at sac with next to no mods and weight reduction.

At Sac? not Atco, how is that possible..

There a bunch of guys in the 10.8 to 11.1 range. They are all NA on slicks with weight reduction.

The 10.9 guy is a manual with the stock intake stock headers. Catless xpipe back exhaust tuned on e85 with the typical weight reduction and suspension mods. He went 10.97 at 122 with a 1.5 60, the others are all around 122-124

I think you're right, based on my experience with those three cars I would agree that a 302 should fall somewhere in between the Benz and the Bimmer. I was driving a regular 5.0 with the 3.73 rear end the other day and couldn't get enough of that engine between its sound and the way it tears through those short gears. I must have done like twenty 0-100 runs in a row, giggling the entire time.
