      Velos Designwerks recently completed an ESS VT2-625 supercharger install on an E92 M3 at their location in Florida. In the hot and humid Florida weather the car put down 567.8 wheel horsepower (we are unsure on what correction factor was used) on their dynojet dyno. We recently saw an ESS-VT2 600 which runs lower boost and a less aggressive tune put down 534 horsepower to the wheels on a dynojet with STD correction making the numbers for this higher output kit fall right inline.

      A very well done video of the installation along with a short peak at the dyno is below. We definitely would love to have the full graph showing the correction and boost numbers.

        What is the difference between car 1 and car 2? Transmission? Mods?

        Actually everything is the same in regards to performance mods: ESS VT625 Systems and full Akra Evolution Exhaust systems.

        Same transmission, both 2011 productions as well.

        Are you shure that tha Acra exhaust is the best for the ESS VT 625, when we did a dyno att Ess shop in Norway the car with te Acra system had almoust 30 whp less then mine.
        May the Acra system be to restrictive when we are talking +550 whp

        Whether it's the best or not is up to debate but clearly it is less restrictive than factory.

        Thanks for sharing this! I must applaud your cinematographer! The biggest reason being that his or her shots are actually in focus! What drives me nuts about a lot of these online car videos these days is that anyone can pick up a dSLR and shoot videos. But what sets apart a good cinematographer who is here for the art versus anyone else is composition, transitions, and the progression of telling a story.

        Your video, spectacular! Great angles. Great shots. Everything is in focus when it needs to be. Nice flow to the whole video. Well done guys!

        So the difference comes down to BBS versus HRE wheels.
        Which one has the HRE? My guess is car nr 2...

        Haha, yes those would be the differences.

        The first car has BBS wheels and Stop Tech brakes while the second has HRE's and Brembo

        The first runs are before the SC installs, both cars had the full Akra systems installed prior to install. Otherwise stock.

        Very interesting AFR traces on those two dyno runs...even with DI on the N54 we don't run that lean..is that AFR trace correct?

        Hey,

        Acutally the AFR runs closer to ~12.0 at redline, similar to what you see on the curves at 8K RPM.

        We've logged the AFR using other tools on the dyno and on the street to confirm.

        Basically, we did not want to tighten the AFR tube onto the tips too tight in an effort to not scratch the Akra tips; in result the tube would start to push out towards redline resulting in the AFR appearing to be lean.

        Hey,

        It does appear that way but we did not have the best day dealing with AFR when both were dynoed in regards to the lines displayed on the graphs.

        Which is why we logged the car through the OBDII port with other tools to confirm the AFR's during the runs, it's actually closer to the 13's in the 4-5K range.

        Other ESS charts would be better to use as reference for the AFR plots.
