      This is not really much of a surprise with the standard Gran Coupe already being sold and the F12/F13 M6 available in the US market as well. It is only natural that the M6 Gran Coupe should follow. The car will mimic the drivetrain offering of the new F10 M5 and F12 M6 (dual clutch transmission and twin turbo S63tu V8) and also may be available with the optional manual transmission for the USA although we doubt it will be a very popular option if offered. Expect it to arrive in 2013 carrying an absurdly high price tag.

        I don't understand this car. Don't they already have a large 4 door M car called the M5? Isn't the point of the 6 series to have 2 doors, not 4?

        The CLS changed things. I agree with you but the 4 door coupe segment is here to stay.

        BMW is apparently pricing it so high because they don't see it as a CLS competitor but want to price it up into the Panamera's market. I'll be interested to see if it works, but I just drove the CLS550 last week and it's one hell of a car. The fact that I can get a very well equipped CLS for $75k (71k base) with that monster twin turbo V8 makes the 6 GC a tough pill to swallow. It's $76 base and more like $85k with the options I'd want (actually 91k for all the things I would want, but $85k gives it options that make it directly comparable to the $75k CLS)

        I agree this car is stupid and ugly and needs to die. An M6 is two door, an M5 is 4 door. BMW must be managed by apes.

        i agree will all of you on "why make another 4 door sedan" but i like the design of the M6 better my 2 penies

        I beat it will be a slightly retuned s63 that will still get its ass kicked by the m157.

        There's no sports appeal to that design to me...just looks like a luxury car...drop the M and it would be more appealing personally but to have the M badge it deserves more. Oh well, these new watered down M's will only raise the value of it's true M predecessors.

        Well there is something we all agree on. BMW M brand is f***g up. They are going towards more luxury which is away from true M style, but ask yourself this, who is the majority of who can afford these cars? They are the one's who indirectly demand this luxury. So BMW provides it. We can point fingers all day, and not have a definite answer. I've said this for many years. If AMG offered manual gearbox in mass production i would highly consider switching over.

        I have to admit the design is fantastic. Too bad it doesn't drive as good as it looks.

        AMG and BMW are both moving toward dual clutches and no manuals so they will both be offering basically the same thing soon.

        I saw it here in HI in person. The one they have (sold) is exactly as the picture- matte bronze individual finish. It also had some individual contrast color stitching throughout the interior and dash. They say it's purpose is it's "sexier" than the 5. I don't see it, the interior was markedly smaller than the 5 although the car has a lengthy appearance. Sticker was 96.

        It's a car, it can't be pointless. But when you realize it's just a E-Class with a nicer sheetmetal, less practicality at higher pricetag, it becomes pointless. Same is true for the A7.

        But hands down the crown goes to BMW. They managed to deliver the same package as other cars, at a hilarious price tag. a fully loaded 640i passes the 100,000 dollars mark. What the hell they were thinking when they were setting the price for this car is beyond me.
