• New e46 m3 performance records - 10.1 @ 145mph, 5.12 60-130mph - hpf drag m3

We took the car out and ran it's first few full passes. We flat out just overpowered the tires on all 6 passes. PIR does not prep it's track at all and it was a very ugly cold day. We tried dropping tire pressure until the car was extremely loose at the top end. We also have to install NOS to spool the turbo at the line and we just haven't gotten around to it yet. Next time out we will start adjusting the suspension as well.

I was hoping for a 9 second pass but we will get it next time. The 10.1 was with a 1.7 60 ft and traction issues. So there's a TON more in it.

FOR those wanting to understand why an auto is so brutal on the track, check out the VBOX logs from Pass 4 (the last image on this post). Not a single lapse in power anywhere on the pull.

I'm wondering if the twin scroll helped much seeing that you are thinking about using nitrous to spool the turbi

It hasn't really. It may have helped peak power but the spool is very slow.

So what advantages does the twin scroll really give?

Crazy runs! Dang, HPF finally serious about a motorsport. This should give way to awesome new products.

Is this Fallon driving? iirc, it was her car?

It splits the turbine housing into two pockets. It's intended to contain individual pulses in a smaller area over the wheel, giving it better response.

The top end advantage in ts is the ability to run a larger a/r. It's ultimately a leg up to try and make better use of the exhaust volume the engine has to offer, if sized more towards top end, an a/r might be more manageable twin scroll for a given setup, whereas open spreadbore, it might not be feasible to fit enough powerband. I mean, this is a big turbo in question. I wonder how spoolable it would be spreadbore with the same a/r.

It was me driving. Click here to enlarge Yes, we finally built a serious drag car. Now we just need to get some better tires, NOS and we're good to go. Click here to enlarge
