    • Horsepower Freaks high compression turbo E46 M3 track car spins to 9000 RPM and hits 778 wheel horsepower at 18 psi

      Our previous low compression / Precision 71 turbo powerband in the track M3 took nearly 2 seconds to get back to full power after exiting a turn. Even with that issue, the car was still extremely fast because it had enough power to make up for it. Now we have the best of both worlds with instantaneous power all the time. We're running a smaller 6766 turbo with a high compression 9,000rpm rev limit motor and we're running even more power than we used to. Here's a dyno of the car to 9,000rpm and a short clip of it on the street. For comparisons, I overlaid this dyno with the HPF stage 1 powerband on race fuel.

        That is a BIG SECRET,don,t ask me why because only Chris knows that .
        I guess it has around 12.5:1 compression.

        That's because John open the throttle plates all the way on the dyno. The drive by wire is gone so 100% throttle is 100% throttle. Click here to enlarge He could have eased into it and made the same power down low.

        So with a higher CR built engine, im assuming its all up to the tune to help prevent any issues with the motor going, how reliable is this setup long term? Do you guys think you will start building ///M's with a higher CR and maybe a 71 turbo in there in future builds. Car looks great, also is there any room for you guys to put in a quick spool valve for even better spool and higher numbers across the board. If anything youd like to keep this response private just shoot me a pm as I am interested in going about a kit in the near future, thanks

        can't run pump gas on this CR.
        I had talked to john about doing a QSV and he talked me out of it for a 6466 instead lol

        haha i thought so, interested what a 6466 would do compared number wise and reaching the power band on a pump gas street setup

        im putting my options together as im thinking of building a hpf / custom build and have to keep my options open as to what would be the ultimate setup. what do you guys feel this motor can handle on the stock motor safely, im not sure if i should just pull the motor and build the beast or slap on a turbo ride it out and build the motor over the winter hmm

        Why not put this motor in the drag car and run higher boost? This is probably the best thing introduced to the S54 community

        IMO the best fuel to use for an application like this is pure methanol.
