      This is a comparison we have been wanting to see of a supercharged M156 taking on a tuned M159 in an SLS. The SLS belongs to a BenzBoost member named SLS AMG and it features bolt on's including a tune and exhaust mods. The SL63 AMG in this video is a 2009 R230 that belongs to his brother. The car has a Stage I Weistec supercharger. Full specs including weight of the cars are below. The supercharged car is putting out more power and it wins although the SLS hangs in there very well. Maybe time to upgrade the SL to the Weistec Stage 2+ supercharger?

      There is no question that with a Weistec supercharger the SLS would win. A great comparison and we thank the two BenzBoost members involved for bringing it to us. Check out the video and specs below.


      2011 SLS AMG:
      - Custom ECU dyno tune PP-Performance
      - Supersprint Racing Headers (catless)
      - Supersprint Xpipe (catless)
      - 160F Thermostat
      - BMC filters
      - Pirelli Corsa tires (track spec)
      - Weight of the SLS without driver : 1520 KG (spare removed and running catless)

      2009 SL63 AMG:
      - Weistec Stage1+ ECU software tune
      - Weistec Supercharger Stage 1+ kit
      - MBH Longtube Try-Yi headers (catless)
      - Caragraphic Catless H pipes
      - 160F thermostat
      - Carbonio Intake
      - Pipercross Filters
      - Michelin Pilot Cups tires
      - Weight of the SL63 without driver: 1880 KG (Spare removed and installed Evosport rotors on all four sides, running catless)

        Looks a bit like the SLS started in the wrong gear.
        After the initial jump it hangs pretty well with the SL.

        Nope We both started from 2nd gear roll on 40 km/hr. The temperature in that video was @ 95-97F. We previously raced in a cooler temperature @ 74 and my SLS was furthur behind.

        We Vboxed both car frm 100km/hr-200Km/hr

        SLS: 6.4
        Sl63: 5.9

        yes its a big difference

        Right now the SL is tapping 6.2-6.3

        Heat kills supercharged cars. I'm pretty sure when I race him after two weeks, when the temperature gets above 110F I will be ahead of him.

        I'll just make sure not to race him during the winter when the temp is @ 45-55FClick here to enlarge

        Surprised how well that SLS hung in there. The immediate boost from the SL put it out in front right away but it didn't seem to pull away from that SLS at all.

        You are completely right. My Bro's SLS is an animal. He has a really good tune. Actually two weeks ago I pulled harder on him when the temperature was lower. Seriously, I did not expect to be ahead of him at all, you have to remember the SL is heavy and weighs 360KG ~ 810lbs more than the SLS. When his car is supercharged, he will be destroying everybody.

        Prior to installing the SC, his car wouldnt leave no trace against me. boosts away in a flah!.
