    • Mercedes to launch 2013 R231 SL65 AMG at New York Auto Show - M275 twin turbo V12 motor to be used in another SL generation?

There was little word from Mercedes on whether they would produce another SL65 AMG or not. The current SL63 with the performance package easily exceeds the previous generation SL600 and is likely more than a match for the previous generation SL65 AMG (Black Series excluded). So it appears the V12 twin turbo M275 will be making another appearance but will it get any significant upgrades? If not, it almost seems redundant with the existence of the new twin turbo V8 with the performance package especially considering it will be more expensive.

Car and Driver states that Mercedes feels V12 buyers are different from V8 buyers. It seems the main difference is that they are willing to spend more for a badge. We will know more when the car is revealed in New York in April.
