• New Porsche Boxster (981) laps the Nurburgring in under 8 minutes with a 7:58

The new Boxster certainly is impressive, inside and out. Everyone has been commenting mostly on the design but with a sub 8 minute run we can now discuss the incredible performance as well. The performance increase on the Nurburgring for the new Boxster is substantial gaining 12 seconds on the previous generation 987 Boxster despite only having 5 more horses. Incredible? Absolutely, especially considering this time is only 18 seconds off the new (and much more powerful) 991 Porsche 911 Carrera S.

Without a doubt Porsche is king at the moment. They are producing cars with such great chassis/transmission combos that even with lower powered engines can decimate much more powerful vehicles around tracks.

This is what BMW should be doing - instead of just adding turbos... This is a cool car, I like the loops on the door (the last boxster - RS?) - this is an awesome car if a 2 seater is called for.

My point exactly and this is why the F10 M5 is not nearly as impressive as it could or should be.
