• ESS Tuning VT2-625 supercharged 2011 E92 DCT M3 hits a new S65 trap speed record of 132.26

Congratulations to BimmerBoost member Ricky (ERM324) who set a new S65 V8 trap speed record at the ATCO drag strip in New Jersey this past Sunday. The E92 M3 has a dual clutch transmission and was run on 100 octane with drag radials and a Gintani full exhaust. The 60 foot on the record trap run was 2.148 (the DCT is very finicky to launch) which means there is plenty of room to improve the ET and this is most definitely a 10 second car with a good launch.

This now makes for the second M3 supercharger kit company to crack the 130 mph barrier boost only. It would seem the stock internal limit with a blower is the 10 second and low 130 MPH range. Congratulations to ERM324 and it is great to see more cars clear the 130 mark and raise the trap speed bar in the process.

I would love to see a S65 get to 1182 crank horse power, I doubt it unless you stroke it though.
I dont see why it couldnt. Throw enough boost at an engine and it can make as much power as you want. Hell there are 2 liter hondas making 1000 hp on boost.

It's harder for a Centrifugal supercharger to do this on a small displacement engine. It's just to many factors you have to worry about a bracket that can flex, belt slippage when you start reving them high/spinning.If it was so simple you would see them more on smaller engines. The fact remains it's not easy to do just like a turbo car turn up the boost and go.

There have been many people that have tried and failed. Not on this platform yet but hey its worth a shot.

I wasnt really talking about a 1000 hp honda using a centri. What Im saying is that if you have enough boost, you can make any motor make as much power as it can handle. There are centris out there that can push huge power numbers. Look at the procharger F1R and F2, F3 etc...

Think of the S65 as a big block chevy, it is 4 liters but it consumes just as much air as a 7 liter domestic. And that is why the YSi can be maxed out on it.

I know you wasn't talking about a 1000hp honda with a centri lol. I doubt the S65 can make as much as this car or match it
        http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...em.php?gik=453

The S65 may have the potential to do what you are saying.

But do you know for a fact that there is a bracket that will fit and not flex at high rpm's ? Causing belts to snap

Is there room to fit a big enough heat exchanger for the water to air set up ? the more boost = more heat

I hope I am wrong would love to see the S65 make the power, the car already has my attention.

Yes the belt slippage problem is real. Calculations obviously dont take that into account, lol.

Realistically those numbers are with meth injection, notice on my spreadsheet I used a 90% intercooler efficiency because I assume meth injection. I dont know if there is a bracket that can handle the tension of the belt.

Need to realize that the crank snout can break off too, supercharge tension was not something the crank was designed for. When you start putting hundreds of pounds of tension in the belt you add stress to the crank. Cog setup ftw.

They don't need to do that stuff any longer. Shop is full and they aren't even interested in the low end kits. Sort of taking the HPF approach now.

With a turbo setup we would be seeing 1500+ out of it already. Such high VE plus big boost = WHOA. Kind of like the S54.

The heat exchanger is huge, not a problem.

The bracket is a work of art, don't see it flexing.

We'll see how it does with the YSI. I want to fit an F1-X on there.

What kind of belt set up 8,10 or cog ? I under stand if you cant let out the information.

The F1-X is a bad blower.

Turner responded to this very question, as I was asking them about doing a stroked S65, they said its actually detrimental to the engine and it can only be bored out to 4.2-4.3. They said just on a overbore you can go 4.6L, but at that rate the liners are so thin they can only withstand 15psi max.

to make high boost it would best be kept to a stock shortblock. Thicker linings will bump that number a bit.
