      Here is the new M135i. The vehicle will be powered by the N55 single turbo six cylinder and have over 300 horsepower. How much over? Well, we expect it to be right around the same range with its crank rating as the BMW 1M. What it puts out to the wheels will be interesting to see. It will make its official debut in Geneva next month. Another interesting tidbit is that it will likely have an all wheel drive option when it goes on sale in Europe in July. Most likely not coming to the USA and we do not really mind.

        It looks like from now on, they'll be putting the //M logo on about everything.

        There are now two separate performance subsidiaries of BMW: M Performance Automobiles, and M Motorsport. It is very unfortunate that they share the same branding, as the M Performance Automobiles are really going to devalue the image that M Motorsport has built.

        Not a fan! prefer the 1M look. I think I'll be sticking to the 1M in the future lol.

        I can't believe it either, right on the money. AMG did it in a smart manner, Black Series model taking AMG further up whereas BMW keeps taking M further down. WTF is going on?

        BMW is making money from M stuff while Mercedes doesn't. Now try to tell BMW to act like Mercedes, they will show you the gain in profit and a big paper which "GTFO" is written on it.

        BMW is just looking for money recently, rest is BS to them.

        Back in the days we used to poke and make fun of people who put the ///M badge on a regular bimmer...

        Who needs an M135i? Unless it offers some (very) serious performance upgrades over a standard 135i? This is even worse than that X5/X6 M stuff. Oh well, shows how money dictactes the direction things take at BMW...

        At least here in the EU they slapped M badges on many cars in the eighties and nineties, but this is worse than a E36 325i with an "M" package.

        Uh... what BMW? At least the 1M has M3 sub-frames, control arms, sways, tuned shocks/spring rate, extra heat exchangers, M3 competition brakes/wheels, etc....

        This is just the new 135i with the M-sport Package. My old 135i had the M-sport package, and it handles NOTHING like my 1M!

        This is really no different than an M sport with PP they previously offered with the exeption of putting an M badge in front of the 135. Hopefully with having these in between models, it will push the real M cars even further.

        And no, this is not a replacement for the 1M.

        How long do they really think selling out ///M is going to last. Once it isn't special it will be worth $#@!.

        Is there some way we could arrange a $#@! slapping of the entire executive board with a live feed?

        It doesn't matter as long as this stuff sells. I saw a 60 year old woman getting into an X6 M yesterday. All she knows is she is driving the most expensive BMW SUV, she probably doesn't even know what M stands for. Sad this is, neither does BMW any longer.

        But how long will it really help sell extra cars ya know? Seems like BMW is thinking very short term. It helps sell now, but you won't have a that special designation in a very short time. It will just show you bought the most expensive trim of whatever model.

        I think they will continue to do whatever sells. This comes at the expense of the brand though. They essentially have devalued M.
