      The new N20 4 cylinder has not even made it into the 3 series yet it is already winning awards. Offered in the F10 528 and Z4 sDrive 28i the motor is getting tons of praise from just about everyone. The BMW N55 also made the list for the second year in a row. This brings BMW's total number of times to receive this award at 33, more than any other manufacturer. The real test though will be to see if the N20 is recognized by the International Engine of the Year awards. Definitely a good start for this motor.

        How can the engine be on the list if it just came out and there was no time to test it?

        I thought about this as well but apparently their requirement is just that it meets a price criteria and that it was available for sale earlier in the year.

        So what the hell does it take for the engine to win? Just has to physically exist? What if it turns out to be the biggest POS engine with the worst reliability? We know nothing about the N20.

        Well this is why I don't consider the Ward's 10 Best Engines all that great or on the same level as the International Engine of the Year Awards. It needs to be in a car under $54k first of all so that kind of sucks right there.

        Ward's top 10 diesel engines does not have the M57 in 1st place... it's opinion doesn't mean anything to me....

        But seriously... Ward's list is not all that precise... and good...

        You are right, I have little respect for it. It's news though...
