      We have completed our rapid prototype testing and are happy to report that we will be sending our HPF N54 intake manifold off to production next week with an expected genearl release date of May 2012. This new manifold allows everyone to run a secondary fuel system in conjunction with the N54 direct injection or turn the direct injection off and just run a standard fuel system. We will be selling the fuel rails and injectors that fit with our rail but anyone can source their own if they so desire.

      For those that are not ready for the fuel rail and injectors, we will be shipping the intake manifolds with pipe tapped plugs in the injector holes. Those that do so can later upgrade and install our fuel system or any other fuel system.

      Our previous design had methanol bungs in between the ports. We have removed those from the design. For those that want to run methanol, they can install the methanol nozzle pre intake manifold or they can drill and tap into the intake manifold and mount the nozzle themselves.

      We will have our N54 turbo kit running on a 335i in about a week and we are looking forward to getting this intake manifold completed so we can turn the boost up past the direction injection limits. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or email my staff at sales@horsepowerfreaks.com.

        fueling ftw! No more using meth as a fuel bandaid...now we can really use meth to make more power the safe way..but then again who would even both using it since you now have 6 more injectors?


        This stuff makes me wanna go back out and buy a 335 again.

        With this imstalled and combined with a single turbo, at what power level would a n54 need to have reinforced internals to not really go boom?

        Hey guys, new member and still learning about forced induction, why is it that direct injection was such a bad thing for high boosting cars? what possibilitys does this new intake manifold make possible/ thanks for any answers or help

        I don't think they'll be turning of the DI just yet, secondary injectors is for fueling past what the factory DI can handle. It's a old school approach to get around the advanced direct injection system, I'm surprised no one else has done this yet. Good stuff guys! Click here to enlarge

        i'd have no problem using secondary port injection for "additional" fuel on top of what DI offers but I'd definitely NOT be inclined in turning DI completely off..that's just going backwards

        I guess it all comes down to what you appreciate from your car in the end, in my case, its a high hp DI setup

        Maybe they have and just don't post about. Fact is, the DME has it's own afr curve. You start adding external fuel and the duty cycle on the DI injectors go down. It has even been shown to do that with high quantities of meth. Personally, I think DI is useless at this point. We just don't have the technology to utilize it yet.

        Who cares about purity at this point. Its the same mentality people make about keeping stock block or stock turbos or no nitrous etc. If it performs better in the car you like, then do it. Otherwise just buy a different car.

        Who said anything about purity. To make this motor perform like it should, ditch the DI, go port injection, and put it on a Standalone. Exactly what HPF is planning on doing.

        Where is this coming from?

        I'm certain that we won't be using a procede for this. Will you see HPF components on a procede tuned car? Hopefully, if everything goes the way we plan it to go with marketing, there will be COBB cars, JBX cars and procede cars running our single turbo components.

        The rumor mills be-a-churnin'!

        I've seen that posted in a couple of places. A good way to go about dispelling potential rumors, is if the info didn't come from a screen name with "HPF" as a prefix, don't take it as a fact.
