    • Former Pacific BMW employees facing criminal charges stemming from 1M Joyride through Glendale

Well, we are glad something is being done about the Pacific BMW Employees who took a brand new 1M for a joyride through the streets of Glendale. Yahoo reports that Vacheh Margoussian (21) was the driver and Artin Yazidjian (22) filmed. Margoussian will face a reckless driving charge along with another misdemeanor charge. No word yet on if Pacific BMW has returned the money they took from the owner in the form of a $10k markup.

I would think that this would be pretty hard to prove that reckless driving occurred without a direct witness (peace officer)...

Not sure what it's like in Cali - but it's 25+ AND officer's discretion; this guy wasn't clocked AND he could simply say the speedometer was photoshopped - as was the whole video. Not sure what he admitted to, but that's where I would be going if I did something this dumb (this is key) Click here to enlarge

I don't agree with what they did - but it seems like the dealership is getting more free advertising over these two jags. The dealership still owes that dude 10 grand - that's how this SHOULD be remedied.

        Cheers.

Unfortunately the law can be bended and manipulated rather easily

You really think if they said the speedometer was faked they would just drop it and let them go without investigating whether or not that's actually the case? That's a laugh. Hint: it's not diffficult to show it wasn't manipulated.

Yep, pieces of trash still won't give the $10k back after all this. Despicable dealership.

nickr519 - I mean, in all seriousness, I understand how ridiculous this sounds - but it could be done... Given how much press this has had - it is way blown out of proportion... You would need to prove A LOT - the exact road they were on, that the speedometer is calibrated, etc... Not saying this is fake (we all know it's not) - but just curious how YOU would show me (for a fact) that it's not manipulated. I say it's near impossible unless they have the raw untainted video straight from the phone (or whatever the device used).

Just saying - seems like a pretty lame case considering most anyone who has had a serious speeding ticket (reckless) - has had it dropped to a parking ticket simply because it can't be proven without a doubt in court... That's getting it straight from a police officer - not from youtube.

Agreed - this is the press the dealership needs... I honestly feel bad for the person - I would be livid.

The manipulated speedo argument just doesn't work considering the ECU could be looked at and additionally that the dealership fired them over the video. So clearly there is merit to it being real. Not much of an argument to be made otherwise..

Also considering how much bad press this has been these guys are idiots for not returning the money. I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask. Might as well let them know we haven't forgotten about it.

Wow... If that really came from the dealer - it shows how much class they have... Outstanding.

That 3M paint protection sounds enticing. :-)

Of course I am being facetious. This is a joke - the same time this lawsuit is publicized, they sell the car saying you can have personal interviews with the celebrity... Does this mean the guy who is getting sued is also available for comment, or are they talking about the owner? Click here to enlarge

So, just got off the phone, nice guy and everything... He said with what has happened, they have had to soak up a lot of heat on this, and that's why the price is where it is... For a dealer - he explained the entire story (without me even mentioning the video) - and he was very honest to what we know happened, and then what happened after (from what it sounded - it made sense).

To sum up, this IS the car.

Did they give the guy back full price plus the markup?

I don't care they had to soak up a lot of heat, THEIR loss. Nobody else is supposed to pay for their mistakes.
