      BMWUK has put out a great new video showing off the engine sounds of the new F10 M5. The motor sounds great which makes us wonder why BMW has to go the cheesy fake engine note route when the motor is more than capable of speaking for itself. The S63tu sounds a bit more aggressive than the standard S63 twin turbo V8 that is in the X5/X6 M likely due to its intake, exhaust, and rev limit changes. Check out the video below.

        Now that is more like it, love every time it up shifts with that burble! The new m5 is starting to grow on me, been playing with it a lot on Forza4.

        good find sticky, i want my dad to get one, but i don't think he'll go for it. i was really turned off by the interior sound bit on the other thread, but i'm coming around because of all the other good things.

        Still doesn't come close to the S65. Won't even mention the S85.

        Yeah, yeah, I know what your saying about the S65 and S85 -especially with exhaustClick here to enlarge However, that being said the F12/F13 are far more visceral than any of the other N63 engined cars/SAV's, maybe save the X6/X5 versions - M's included as the S63's sound similar to V10's. If you haven't already take an F12 and/or F13 out - select sport + and go through the gears...

        Maybe so - but acoustic reproduction via the car's speakers is still a bit much. it is what it is...

        S85 is still the best sounding BMW engine, then we have the S54B32 in CSL form, after that the S65, but only at the highest range of the revs, discounting the M1 in race form and off course the McLaren F1.S62 does not really make a sound.. unless you put an aftermarket exhaust on it.Then we have the S50B30/32 and the S38B38 Click here to enlarge which all sound like a real race engine.The new M5 makes up for lackluster exhaust note and engine sound with these great backfire gearchanges when goign up between gears Click here to enlarge

        I would also throw in that the S14 in race trim sounds pretty amazing.

        With the things BMW M did to the engine, people are complaining about the sound the thing makes and have not seen the car in the metal, sat in it or let alone driven it. You can't have everything. Sheesh guys.!
