      Well, here we go, more all wheel drive BMW models. Certainly not a bad thing as long as we get the option which we do at a $3000 premium. The X-drive 6 series model will be available for coupes (F12) or convertibles (F13) so you can put the top down in the snow which is always cool. Heh, get the pun? Sure you do, you are an intelligent BimmerBoost reader. Anyway, the base price for a 650i coupe is $83,000 so with all wheel drive one is looking at $86,000 before adding anything else on. This option will likely be available for both the 640i and 650i.

        Not a bad option for those folks who live in harsh environment, and want an even heavier car.

        My main question is really how much weight it adds.

        Cool option though and I would prefer to take this up to the mountains for a nice snowboarding trip.

        average, X-Drive adds around 80 kg's.

        This is in line with the Mercedes-Benz CL550 with it's 4Matic option. It can't add that much weight as I can't recall the number. It is not much. Or as I just looked and see it is 80kg or 176lbs. Nice option BMW!!!!

        I assume the M version will come out with AWD also then? Just like the M5.

        M5 does not have AWD only that it will get it with the diesel version. The M6 will be RWD, maybe AWD later we will see.
