      We are bringing you this information because it is our duty to report any and all BMW performance news. If this is true, which the Vbox file sent was genuine, then the very questionable character Mert has set a new S54 record with a 4.22 60-130. However, as just mentioned, this is a person of questionable character. There is no video, no photos, and there are no real details. What turbos? What size shot of nitrous? What was done to the motor? These are all questions we would like answers to but the owner is not contributing any information to the community. He seems more intent on using the community to prop up his own ego. This new record run being all the more perplexing considering Mert has stated he is getting a new engine block so who knows if this file is actually from his car. For now, and thankfully, djoborya maintains the overall BMW 60-130 crown at 4.2 done on a drag strip with a blazing fast 9.28@153 in the 1/4 mile. Come to your own conclusion.

        I don't know much about VBox, can the files be modified or faked? I can understand not wanting to reveal engine details and supporting mods. It's really odd that Mert only emails you the file without posting any video, slip or any other proof to the board, so everyone can see it.

        I don't think they can be faked as much as another car can be used. There is just too much controversy and secrecy with this car but we'll have some more details on his credibility tomorrow when vids from my visit to @Apex Speed Technology go up.

        I also hate this new Vbox software so, so much. I do find it odd that all his runs end at 131 mph, timed incredibly perfectly.

        They all end at 131!? how is that possible!? does it show that the movement stopped completly at 131mph it does not make sense to me?If it is Sounds like it is being tampered with somehow.Till i heard this I was thinking more along the lines of strapping the v-box on a nice potent street bike like a hyabusa with a bigger turbo.they can run 4 second 60-130 all day long on a street. trying to get enough traction in a 3000+ pound car can be a problem at those power levels on the street and without being at the track with slicks or having all wheel drive. B.

        How would the gearing match up with the m3's? Are merts' runs 0-shift?

        Bikes use a sequential transmission you would not see any shifts because they never let off the gas when shifting.

        that engine bay does look pretty serious. It's just not believable.. no video, no explanation of what is done to the engine specifically, nothing.

        Yeah I usually flat shift when I ride, even when I'm just cruising around lol, but so mert's supposed vbox files show 0-shift pulls? I thought I remember seeing a video of him shifting what looked like a stick although it may have been a sequential box

        Maybe it was in 4th gear and gave it all hell and some N2O to spool the turbos...?

        Certainly possible, he said something about not shifting earlier.

        The car is a 6MT however with SMG paddles to control the boost level... supposedly. Remember, this is mert who we are talking about.

        so what rules out him making the run with a turbo'd bike, or some car with a powerglide, or anything else where the shifts are insignificant on the graph? He's never produced a video where he takes the camera into the car, then points it at the vbox screen, then runs. If he did I know I'd shut my mouth even if others wouldn't.

        That seems to be literally the only way he could produce that graph with his m3. edit: with a serious, serious shot of N2O

        a video has never been required to validate VBox times. it would be nice if he did post one up. but that involves adding a passenger to the car and if hes trying to go from 4.2 to 3.9x - the last thing he wants to do is add weight. at the end of the day - who cares lol.

        No passenger needed, just a camera mount and one continuous video. I'd love for someone to explain to me why a video should not be required to validate any VBox submission.

        Yep, or else how do you prove what car the file is from?

        Additionally, in this instance it is more of a credibility issue.
