• Kleemann and Weistec Engineering announce global distribution agreement for 63 AMG (M156/M159) superchargers

      This is a bit of an interesting development. Many of you will know Kleemann as a European company who developed and still develops superchargers for Mercedes platforms. Weistec would almost seem to be their competition making this joint venture somewhat surprising although Kleemann has no M156 application. Due to that, it would seem fitting for both parties to work together as Kleemann can use their network to sell the Weistec product and Weistec will be able to reach a wider audience. Essentially, a win-win for both, check out the press release below.

        Gettig Weistec superchargers for my cars are the best mods I have ever done. Sounds like a great by Weistec,Click here to enlarge gets more distribution and probably preempts and move by Kleeman to develop their own product. sounds like bad news for xtra-power's product though

        To be honest, we haven't really seen anything of merit from Xtra-Power.

        Yes I harbor seen anyone on any mb forum talk about their installation. I think it's more expensive than Weistec's

        Xtra-Power will pretty much be an option just for people who are local to them. For the US, it is going to be all Wesitec. Additionally, with this distribution network the game is pretty much becoming predominantly Weistec based.

        Do you see any benefit of this partnership to the customers aside from wider distribution points and perhaps more local service in some instances? Sounds to me like a great partnership for Weistec and Kleemann. Congrats to both companies and I hope to the customer base as well.

        I have not seen any real world results from the Xtra-Power system, there's not a whole lot of anything on Xtra-Power out there. You would think they would put some performance number out there considering they are trying to sell to a customer that most likely wants some additional performance...dyno charts are nice but some rel world numbers might sell a few more units, that is unless the numbers just are there in the real world. Earls and my car are quick but I think if someone with a C63 goes with the package Earl and I have they will easily take the overall MB record, IMO the C63 chassis is much better suited to drag racing than our CLKs....a C63 with our mods and some weight reduction in good conditions will be a low low 10 second car.

        You are one of the guys that I hope puts one on your C63, you can own the record, I'm postive about that...I'm not giving up, I'm still pursuing the record myself but in the end it will be a C with a Weistec blower on it at the top of the list.

        They are a European tuner which means they predominantly just provide crank horsepower figures and that is about it. In the US, we demand dynos and performance numbers. In Europe, they aren't like that. This is also why I prefer US tuners not to mention that they are a better value and offer more horsepower.

        We'll see some C63's with the same package you guys have soon. This is all way way early still.

        I have bought another supercharger for my C63 plus the Eisenmann race exhaust. Might be adding longtube headers and custom tune. Should be complete by end of September. Will eventualy get it to a dragstrip. This thing is going to be awesome.

        I have an ML63, SL63, C63 and CLK63 Black Series. All modded to varying degrees
