      Pacific BMW in Glendale California apparently decided the 1M Coupe needed some market price adjustment. Hey, it's a hot car as it is brand new and Jeremy Clarkson adores it which of course justifies practically doubling the price of the car, right? BMW dealer markup on new models seems to be a largely California based phenomenon and is one dealer fad we could do without. Someone would have to be madly in love with the 1M (and stupid) to pay the mark up on this car especially when other California dealers (some within 10 miles) are selling it for sticker.

        Unfortunately, yes.

        I hope it is more of a publicity stunt though. Then again, if it sells, good for them and the owner who will no doubt get a great return on his investment.

        This is just stupid on oart of the dealer, but it really only qualifies as stupid if someone pays that. In LA people just buy cars and want the hottest thing, but the 6-speed manual will throw that off!!!! Let me look at the "market adjustment" again, yep still stupid.

        Wow.. that's just stupid. 40,000 profit on top of w/e they make. I wonder how much commission that $#@! gets when he sells it. I'll just laugh in their faces, and go get my z06 carbon.

        There are a handful of 1M coupes sitting at dealers.

        My local dealer has an almost loaded Valencia Orange 1M sitting in their showroom. With no mark up.

        For the record both M3's I bought had mark up on them. Paid under sticker for both. Mark up? On a BMW 3 or 1? LOL

        Saw one a couple days ago on my street.. wonder if that kids dad payed this, if so he's way more spoiled than I originally thought.

        On a side note I can think of a millon other things I would spend 100 grand on let alone the 40 k.

        Well I have a friend going to look at it this weekend, so I will keep that one quiet.

        But there is another one in Texas at BMW of Woodlands (North side of Houston).

        I think they are doing it for publicity, and if someone(dumb ass) pays that, then I would say they deserve it.

        I know a few dealers selling them for around $5k over but that's all they are gonna get. Higher demand than supply and likely a 1yr only model. Someone will pay for it but $40k is just idiotic
