      Remember that 4 door M3 GTS we reported BMW was going to produce? Well, this is it. Meet the M3 CRT. The sedan shares the same 4.4 liter stroked motor of the E92 M3 GTS with power also going through a DCT transmission. The car is 45 kilograms lighter than a standard M3 sedan thanks to cellular carbon honeycomb parts used in the hood, seats, spoiler, and front bumper. Think of it as a E90 M3 GTS.

      The car won't come to the USA so we again are left out from having a higher performance limited edition M3. BMW, why do you hate us? Why do you feel the need to kick your American customers in the balls repeatedly? No E46 M3 CSL. No E92 M3 GTS. No E90 M3 CRT. What have we done to displease you? Do you Germans hold grudges for this long? WWII was over 60 years ago, get over it and give us our damn limited edition M3's already.

        I love everything about it. The funny part is most of the idiots on M3post do nothing but criticize it. $#@!s.

        Love the interior, specially the seats.

        But i'm amazed they couldn't get more than 450hp from that 4.4, an FBO M3 makes more than that.

        Those rear seats are interesting. I mean pretty cool they gave the rear seats support, but look a little funny.

        Im sure if you do FBO on that engine you will be 500+ hp no problem, 4.4 FBO > 4.0 FBO

        Yes, but it's supposed to be the ultimate M3, they should have gave it their best. Look at previous gen high end M3's, you couldn't squeeze more hp from S54 in CSL with aftermarket mods, it was M division's best shot.

        Im sure BMW will come out with a "new" m3 for us here in the states. Only 10 will be produced tho

        Yep, will be called the Frozen Black Dick edition that they $#@! you with. A new paintjob, packages already available included, and a higher price tag for some reason.

        Why does a light weight car still have navigation?

        The red accents on the outside of the car look terrible.

        They can keep their stupid "light weight" slash fully loaded sedan, and what is with the red everywhere? Literally the ugliest M3 to ever leave the factory as far as I'm concerned.

        I am, however, excited about this new honeycomb carbon fiber structure. It's supposed to be much cheaper to implement in production cars and much easier to repair in the even of a low speed collision.

It also represents the worldwide debut of a new production process for carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) components in the automotive industry. This process allows CFRP to be introduced widely in the construction of the high-performance BMW M3 Sedan-based sports car created by the BMW M GmbH factory. And that helps it achieve a weight-to-power ratio of 3.5 kilograms per horsepower (7.7 lbs/hp). A V8 engine with customary M high-revving characteristics and maximum output of 331 kW/450 hp accelerates the BMW M3 CRT from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. The BMW M3 CRT will be produced by the BMW M GmbH factory in a limited run of 67 units. Due to the very limited worldwide volume, the BMW M3 CRT will not be homologated for sale in the USA.

        i can see why they wouldnt homologate it for the US. US regulations order something like 5 or 10 cars to be built specifically to be crashed. The cost of that, and then to distribute it among the remaining 10 forsale models would drive the price up by double...suddenly making it not worth it.

        The US did this with the 959. Porsche said go $#@! yourself to that, as trying to crash 5 500k cars doesnt fit well with the bean counters.
