    • First BMW to crack 200 mph in the mile, ICS Performance Turbo E36 M Coupe runs 200.3 MPH at the Texas Mile

A major congratulations to ICS performance is in order. There was some controversy a couple weeks back regarding this M coupe putting down 784 whp on the dyno. Whether the runs were made on pump gas or not the fact is the car is incredibly fast recording a major BMW performance breakthrough. There were members asking for performance figures other than the dyno and now they have them, with the car breaking all BMW records at the Texas mile and being the first BMW to run over 200 mph in the mile. Congratulations to George and everyone at Imported Cars of Stamford.

      Some additional details:

30 mph head wind hindered many cars.

178 mph was achieved on 23 psi.

190 mph was achieved on 26 psi.

Boost or turbo changes for the 200 mph run and changes from the 784 whp have not been disclosed yet. Videos of the runs coming soon.

He already posted he was not driving.

Additionally, I doubt he would have to do 200 mph on CT public roads to figure out this car was capable of 200 mph in the mile. Maybe the time spent tuning and on the dyno told what he needed to know. Moot point, considering he proved it where it counts.

        Correct,
the proof was in da specific location. You may have missed the context of my question. It was not asking where the 200mph+ run was documented. My question was moreso where and why and what brought the 200 mph goal to the forefront of their minds? Where did the enlightenment happen? We all drive irresponsibly on the "public roads" (and document it). No one is innocent there. Click here to enlarge

Well this is phrased better with less ambiguity.

I don't know where it came from, but glad he did get the inspiration and put it to the test.
