      We are not sure what to say at this point but Mercedes-Petronas does not seem to be able to right their ship. Michael Schumacher was not able to complete the race and Nico Rosberg finished in 11th place, out of the points. Sebastian Vettel won again which we do not even know what to say at this point regarding his dominance, amazing. The good news for Mercedes is that the McLaren-Mercedes team finished in 3rd and 6th place with Jenson Button and and Lewis Hamilton respectively. Tough, tough season thus far for Schumacher and Rosberg.

      Nico Rosberg:

      “I had a good start today, and that’s the one positive thing that we can take from the race. After that, I thought that I would be able to push but unfortunately the rear tyres went off in the first stint which really cost me performance. It was a difficult weekend for us with the car not at its best, and I was not at my best either, so it didn’t really come together. That happens sometimes but we will push and be better in Montreal. We will learn from what happened today and we know that the result is not where we belong. I’m sure we can improve and look forward to seeing that in a fortnight.”

      Michael Schumacher

      “Unfortunately, there are not a lot of positives we will be able to take away from this race. At the end, there was a fire inside the airbox and the car simply stopped, but the beginning of the race was not satisfying either. At the start, the anti-stall system suddenly kicked in which meant I had to re-do the whole starting procedure. Then I had a rendezvous with Lewis at turn one which left my front wing not working properly, so I lost downforce which also handicapped my tyres. That meant we had to stop much earlier than we had planned and, from then onwards, the race was obviously compromised. All in all though, the race was quite exciting, and I am happy that Vitaly Petrov seems to be well.”

        without considering Vettel's win, it was a good race.
        some maybe don't like Monaco GP since drivers barely can overtake each other, but driving fast in those tight spaces really worth watching.

        Schumacher is lucky, in the most races the car got mechanical problems, aka good excuses for him. I really don't know why he's back, certainly he and his car aren't as good as before and with the recent weak shows he's just screwing the picture of the seven-time World Champion driver.

        It was a great race with some good overtaking at some points. I'm glad Petrov and Perez are ok after their crashes. Hamilton needs to stop blaming others for his mistakes, he's gotten worse than Alonso. I think Bernie tried to get rid of Monaco GP at one point, but the drivers protested it.

        Schumi has lacked the speed since coming back and the car hasn't helped either. For some reason the car is really bad at maintaining the rear tyres and Schumi's driving style doesn't help with that either. but he still has the fighting instinct. Funny he didn't need DRS to pass people, *cough* Rosberg.

        I don't know how many of you watch the BBC coverage, but Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard are always bashing Schumi. One's a former team owner that didn't know how to run it and the other is a wannabe no. 2 driver. It gets old really quick, everytime he gets passed they get really excited and when it's the other way around they stay quiet. I'm gonna end my rant there.

        Yeah Jordan was a mess, like Virgin Racing.
        I watch it at RTL Germany, I don't understand what are they talking about and that's a good thing, a biased announcer can turn a great race into an awful watch.

        Money, Monaco is the only race whose organisers(the Automobile Club de Monaco) retain the right to sell advertising hoardings around the track. At every other venue their contract with Ecclestone stipulates that Allsport(owned by Eccelstone) has the right to sell advertising space around the track over the Grand Prix weekend.
        this always makes Ecclestone mad, He brought Singapore Grand Prix to challenge Monaco and maybe replacing Moncao, but fortunetley he couldn't.

        Yeah, i was quite happy when i heard he was mugged, he's an ancient A-hole.

        He's the boss because he almost owns everything related to F1, he's the president and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration and also he owns Alpha Prema which runs Formula 1.

        Hopefully Bernie will be gone by the end of 2012. The Concord agreement between Bernie and the teams expires then. Some of the teams are mulling a new contract and Ferrari is trying to get support to create a break away series or have the teams take back control of F1.

        Well the teams threatened to split off before, I don't see why they don't. This guy is basically a dictator and getting rid of Monaco is something not good for the fans or history. Seems he is all about the dolla bills yo.

        many things caused it like bad managers etc...
        but from my point it's all green people's fault, from the day one when Max Mosley became FIA president green people made him to do some big harmful changes in F1.
        there are some people that just hate F1 for no good reason, one day they come and it's waste of money, another day they say it's harmful for enviorment, another day they say it's run by mafia .... in the past 20 years they became more powerful than F1 fans.

        Well, the 80's era with turbo power was insane with some 1800 horsepower vehicles that were madness.

        True, but I don't think the engines will be the same as back then, the're going to limit the RPM's, fuel mileage, HP, etc, to help with development of more eco-friendly everyday cars

        yeah, they are going to be limited just to 650HP, that really sucks.
        80's were the golden era for F1, everything was allowed. You could put an extra axle in your car and make it a 6 wheeler, crazy wings were allowed, no power limitation, no ABS, no EBD, no BS just mean machines and great drivers.

        Amen. That's what F1 was all about (inovation) and still should be. They need to get rid of these rules and let the engineers go crazy, within the safety limits of course. These rules that try to help the slower teams are BS. If your team sucks, well they just suck period. No need to penalize the best teams and make their cars slower. Most of the $#@!ty teams are gone in a few years anyway.

        What they should is do what they do in european soccer leagues. the last 2 teams get relegated to F2, GP3, or what ever at the end of the season and the 2 top teams move up to F1.

        The engineers should be allowed to go nuts, I agree.

        The problem is then costs skyrocket. There really isn't much innovation capping everyone, turns into NASCAR.
