    • BMW takes home 4 awards from International Engine of the Year competition - N54 and S65 continue dominance

The International Engine of the Year award competition is incredibly interesting for automotive enthusiasts. The competition awards the engineering that goes into motors in a variety of categories. This is a competition that BMW has traditionally dominated being the most awarded manufacturer in the competitions history. BMW has twice as many awards as the second place competitor, Honda. This year, 2011, the BMW N54 continued its run winning its fifth straight title for best 2.5 - 3.0 liter engine. The S65 V8 won for the 4th straight year in the 3.5 to 4.0 liter category. BMW also won in the 1.4 to 1.8 liter category as well as the 1.8 to 2.0. Mercedes was knocked out completely.

Yes but it has more displacement, also it idles at around 2000rpm, I never went higher than 3000 rpm in daily driving.

It's also newer, higher compression, and badass.

I still need to post pics of my car, but even at highway you haven't hit over 15? This was my biggest "complaint" going from e46 to e9x but at 70 (cruise control on) and no traffic - I have averaged over 23 a few times back and forth to various places... In the city - haven't got over 12 - that's where it hurts. Click here to enlarge

15 MPG combined, but this was my best, 13 combined was average.
M3 is nothing compared to M6, it drinks gas like beer. I realized the screen can show 2 digit MPG numbers as well when my girl friend sat behind the wheel lol, before that 9 MPG was the best i got.

Ahh, didn't know you had 2 more cylinders... How do you like it other than the gas drinking? :-)
