Interesting race here between two cars that have six cylinder motors with the same displacement. The execution of those motors and the drivelines they are mated to are completely different. The Porsche 991 GT3 has 475 horsepower from its naturally aspirated and direct injected 3.8 liter flat-6 that revs to 9000 rpm. ...Published on 07-07-2015 11:01 PM
You should know by now that the Porsche 911 range is going completely turbo with the exception of the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS. Rumors are flying about but we have what we believe are some solid details on the engine specs and output figures from close sources although specs are still being finalized.

This Audi RS7 we have seen in action before going up against a tuned BMW F82 M4 where it performed very much like a stock RS7. The tuner VAG-Doctor (no gynecologist jokes please) must have actually done some work to the RS7 this time as it does much better going up against a PP-Performance tuned Porsche 991 Turbo. ...Published on 07-06-2015 05:30 PM
Trying to interpret foreign dynos and converting their units to provide meaningful data is somewhat of a headache. For Americans, putting it on a good old Dynojet produces numbers that provide the greatest context. Still, what we can see here is that Porsche is providing exactly what they said they would and maybe a couple extra horses. ...Published on 07-02-2015 07:04 PM
More great runs from our friends in Russia here. We have a Porsche 991 Turbo with the PP-Performance RS650 tuning package going up against a stock Lamborghini Aventador and a Weistec supercharged W204 generation C63 AMG Black Series. ...Published on 06-30-2015 06:36 PM
Back from Pikes Peak and we just wanted to post up some of the info from the blog. This is a bit of data that we have collected over some the past few months. This same data is what we put into our calibrations to make sure they work no matter the variable! ...Published on 06-29-2015 06:49 PM
In this new era that puts a premium on efficiency and emissions (as well as parts sharing among motors) the major German brands have all gone to turbocharged and direct injected V8's for their sedans. In the past BMW had a high revving V10, Mercedes a supercharged V8, and Audi a twin turbo V10. Today we do not see vastly differing approaches. ...Published on 06-28-2015 05:08 PM
Dodson continues to expand their line of dual clutch transmission upgrades. With so many performance cars out there getting dual clutch transmissions as standard now it's a smart move especially as enthusiasts tune many of these turbo motors mated to such transmissions for more power and torque. ...Published on 06-24-2015 04:41 PM
Very impressive and interesting results here from a Porsche 991 Turbo S. Tuning on the Porsche 991 Turbo platform consists mostly of piggyback boxes but there are flash tunes available. We have yet to see a faster flash tune result thus far though as a GIAC Stage II car went 132 although with a quicker 10.2. ...Published on 06-23-2015 03:53 PM
BBi does some very awesome Porsche engine work and the details the process with high resolution photos. We have seen a 4.25 liter GT1 block stroker motor from them, a 997.1 Turbo 3.8 big bore package, as well as a 4.0 liter rotating assembly for the 997.2 and 991 Turbo motors which you are seeing be installed here. ...Published on 06-20-2015 03:21 PM
Here is something to break up the typical posts regarding parts, horsepower, tuning, turbos, and performance upgrades that dominate the front page. Yes, we focus on fast cars but who can forget the kids that try to make their cars look or sound fast rather than actually be fast. ...Published on 06-20-2015 02:20 PM
The production of the Porsche 918 Spyder is officially over. If you wanted one of the $850k+ mid-engine all wheel drive 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque works of top of the line engineering too bad, it's too late. All 918 units have been spoken for which surprises nobody. ...Published on 06-19-2015 07:20 PMPublished on 06-17-2015 08:21 AM
Here is a 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 mustang running just about everything. It's a very quick car especially considering its modifications. The 2008 GT500 does not come with an Eaton TVS series blower. The roots blower that comes stock is an Eaton M122 which is different from the Eaton TVS series. ...Published on 06-16-2015 11:22 AM
This Porsche 991 Turbo S is tuned by Gorilla Racing and we have not exactly been impressed by Gorilla Racing results. The result here is not their fault though as the Porsche 991 Turbo and S models have their share of tuning issues to be resolved at the moment. ...
