• New BMW N54 and 335 turbo / boost only 1/4 mile record - 11.1@127 with Rob Beck upgraded turbos

Congratulations to BimmerBoost member LostMarine! This is breaking news from the private track rental today at the ATCO drag strip in New Jersey. This run was done at 19 psi on the upgraded Rob Beck turbos. Car was launched in second gear on drag radials. Car also has meth and upgraded axles which it clearly needs now with all this power. Check out the timeslip below, more details are coming.

MPH wise is slightly out of the reach but the ET can be done.

If Irishace (Joe) got the RBs on his car (his is a 6AT 135i) I wonder what trap he'd pull off...he trapped 123mph at Cayuga last year just before he ran the 11.55sec run...given same conditions and the average of about 90-100whp more with the RBs on the car that'd be 130+ in his case...this was racegas + meth on JB3 and the passenger seat taken out AFAIK

Different cars, different conditions, this sounds like Hotrod math.

Sure ok, good point...so WHY do you have the 1/4 mile times list without conditions listed? Click here to enlarge lol it was just a random comment..

I understand what you are saying just that LM's results are more realistic. Irishace no doubt has the weather up in Canada to help.

I make sure to list the slip with new entries so people can figure out the DA.

I don't understand the "more realistic" part of your comment when it comes to LM's run vs. Irishace's...123mph with Irishace's run was on Oct. 1st, 2010 at Cayuga...according to dragtimes.info the DA that day was about 950feet (track is at 630feet elevation)...what was LM's DA? are you saying Irishace's run was less realistic given these conditions? This track has been verified by vbox already to be pretty accurate..I did at least 15-20 runs on it last year with the vbox taking down results from the vbox and comparing with the slip...had it posted on e90post and n54tech back then...this is not Sac Click here to enlarge

I figured his DA was negative, in that case, scratch it and take it as realistic. Some of these guys run in -1000 DA and people wonder why they can't hit those times.

IrishAce also has a 135, correct? So, if he were to gain MPH it would really be due to a weight difference.

Here's my post from back then comparing VBOX and Cayuga times:

SLIP 60' SLIP ET SLIP 1/4 VBOX 60' VBOX 1/4 VBOX ET
        1.893 12.238 118.24 1.9 117.4 12.2
        1.996 12.430 118.07 2.0 117.3 12.5
        2.988 13.800 117.06 3.0 116.2 13.8
        2.098 12.723 114.53 2.1 114.3 12.7
        1.837 12.194 119.14 1.9 118.3 12.2
        1.980 12.838 117.06 1.9 117.1 12.8
        1.925 12.125 120.46 1.9 119.7 12.1
        2.007 12.331 119.56 2.0 118.8 12.3

Record 95.75mph 1/8 is the last run, but look at the 60' and impact of slower than fastest I can do shifting on ET...i logged my runs this day and my fastest shifts were all above 0.3sec (1-2 shift was 0.38 when I actually got it to work)...

Its amazing how close vbox and track compare in terms of the ET and 60'...when it comes to trap speed it seems that most cases the track slip reads around 0.8 higher than the vbox...so how does this compare to other tracks out there? has anyone vbox-ed any other tracks?

These runs were with UT set to 100%, 0% ign corr, 100% meth, dual CM7 nozzles and about 10 liters of MS109...

So did the TT Z ever race LM?

I think that race would still be close now that we know what LM traps...

I think the race will be close.

Has not gone down, but it should soon.

A trans might last longer with a lighter 135i. But that's proving to be the new weak point with this platform.

        Couple things to think about
        1. DA was high, not negative, some of the cars there that day already ran 10's in better conditions
        2. I was capped by "safe" boost/fuel. This needs to be rectified, and will easliy find more mph w/more boost. I also had a lot of boost taper up top as u will see. Even holding the same boost for longer, will add power/mph
        3. I ran once i dropped weight, i ran 11.4@123 on 15.5psi
        4. A trans that holds together better will provide more crisp shifts and should equate to better times/mph as well...

Have you already decided on how you're going to attack the trans?

I'm going to be the first to say it

        335 > M3

Great runs LM. Solid driving and a great setup you have there. If you are ever up in NY or N Jerz, you can come take a shot at some of the "big fish" here lol. Congrats
