• BMW takes pole for 2011 ALMS Long Beach Grand Prix - Sets new qualifying lap record

      BMW has qualified in the 1st and 3rd positions for the 2011 Long Beach Grand Prix. In addition to taking the pole, BMW set a new qualifying lap record. The M3's started the season strong with a 1-2 finish at Sebring and taking the pole bodes well for BMW's chances at Long Beach. The race will be on Sunday April 17, at 3:30 PM PST. Full qualifying results are below.

        Those GT cars are pretty fast ,their lap times are really close to LMPC cars !

        Thats the only way to do it. Long Beach race is fun as $#@!, I use to live right there on E Ocean blvd.

        BMW continues its strong start to the ALMS season. After a 1-2 finish in the first race BMW has again finished in first. The second car finished in 7th place however. The competition is very strong as the second place Corvette set the lap record for the class. BMW is currently in first with the Corvette team in second place in the overall standings. The next race is the Northeast Grand Prix which will take place on July 9th.

        Not these unless you are a high end team, the Z4 GT3 you can though.
