With more material on the bottom as well as cooling fins this will act as a giant heat sink of sorts similar to the cooling system upgrades SSP offers for the GTR. One of the main obstacles for the DCT is heat build up and the idea is to get as much fluid out as quickly as possible. Even if the hardware is upgraded if you can not cool it is just a waste as it will be burned up just as easily as the stock hardware.
The pan will be able to connect to an external upgraded cooling source where the additional fluid can be pumped to. It will also offer easier access to change the DCT fluid when necessary. This billet pan forms the major portion of the cooling system upgrade which will retail for somewhere in between $2300-$3000 and will be compatible with all current BMW DCT transmission.
