• More detailed photos of the BMW N20 Turbo 2.0 Liter Direct Injected Four Cylinder + Video

      BMW released more detailed hi-res photos of the new N20 4 cylinder turbo. These give a good look into the size of the turbo, design of the manifold, as well as the cams. They also released a video about their new "Efficient Dynamics" engine family. We are looking forward to seeing how this motor will be tuned and wondering if VALVETRONIC will cause any complications in tuning.

        I expect to see this motor in the 500's with turbo upgrades which will come WAY sooner than they did for the N54.
        lets hope they gave it forged internals like the n54 then i can see that being a very easy.

        Freaking manifold looks to be a one piece with the turbo. Why in the hell does BMW like to do that? I can't think of a single benefit?

        Cost and to clamp down on tuning. Don't worry about it, we'll get manifolds for it.

        Cost? Why would it be cheaper to cast them together? Also what about the cost of replacing a turbo under warranty? Put a vband on it and it's a 30 minute swap plus saving the cost of the manifold. When has someone seen a stock cast log manifold get damaged.

        Cast manifold pieces with the turbo integrated are always cited as cheaper.

        BMW doesn't care about the cost of replacing parts. $15k to replace a DCT instead of just offering discs. They don't give a crap, they want to control you.

        Cost 100% hell bmw is thinning paint coats for cost reason also!
