• Car and Driver compares the 1M coupe against the TT-RS and Infiniti IPL G37 - Picks the 1M

We have our first direct comparison of the TT-RS vs. the 1M Coupe. Car and Driver picked the 1M as their car of choice over the TT-RS and the Infiniti. Frankly, the Infiniti didn't belong in the comparison being much heavier and slower than the other two. What is shocking is they time the TT-RS at 12.1@113 through the 1/4 mile which is quicker than the R8 V8 and hitting 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Car and Driver may have picked the 1M, but the TT-RS is what impressed us.

Nothing wrong with loving the One M. On the other hand, if you loved the G37...........you might need a firefighter squad by your side.

I have to say the engine of choice was a dissapointment, but it is what it is. Can't change it now, so might aswell embrace the little M. Click here to enlarge

It's here, nothing we can do about it. The motor is a letdown IMO and I think it really waters down the M brand but a good car it is.

True but it shouldnt be a M car. I now understand the M trucks but the 1m, i dont get it at all. It would have been alright to badge it a GTS model ...maybe.

Then you would have to take out the LSD along with the ///M suspension.

Why? Who says LSD = M? Even as early as the E30 325's had LSD's and sport suspension options.

This is just an M-sport package if anything just taking the M3 diff and suspension, not a complete M car.

BMW is dismissing its own history and making the "is" badge worthless in favor of selling "M" to as many people as possible:

320is: The 1980 320is for North America offered Recaro seats, a rear antiroll bar, a limited-slip differential, cross-spoke wheels, a larger-diameter front antiroll bar, and a special front air dam.

You got to be kidding about the 1M having better looks than the TTRS
