BimmerBoost is happy to give credit where credit is due and credit is most certainly due here. Congratulations to Maximum PSI as well as Nick G of Technique Tuning for raising the bar on what a stock DME tuned E46 M3 turbo S54 inline-6 engine is capable. How does 697 wheel horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque at the wheels with MS109 race gas sound? And how about the fact that they aren't done as E85 maps are planned? ...Published on 04-13-2013 07:19 AM
This is pretty good news for VW Golf fans as the new Golf R will sport 300 horsepower which is a nice improvement over the MKVI Golf R in the USA which featured a 256 horsepower 2.0 liter turbocharged motor. It appears that basically the Golf R will mimic the Audi S3 which has 300 horsepower out of its 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder motor. So, nothing all that unique for the Golf R engine wise although it definitely is an improvement. ...Published on 04-13-2013 07:01 AM
This might sound odd considering the new M157 Twin Turbo V8 from AMG is making a straightline missile out of almost everything it goes into in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. The problem facing the 2013 G63 AMG is that it is heaviest car this motor has gone into and even its 560 pound-feet of torque can't hide the heft of 5940 pounds. That's 128 pounds more than the seven passenger GL63 AMG which also gets the exact same motor. ...Published on 04-13-2013 04:28 AM
Wow, one seriously fast MKVI Golf here setting a new 2.0 TSI 1/4 mile record. How about the fact it is daily driven as well? This GIAC tuned Golf was able to run a 11.43@130 at the Sydney International Dragway in Australia. The car has a GT3071R turbocharger, GIAC Stage 3+ Race tune, built motor with Mahle pistons at 9.5:1 compression, DM forged rods, Bosch high flow injectors offering 28% additional flow over stock, and of course race gas (MS109). ...Published on 04-13-2013 01:32 AM
These new 63 AMG cars just getting faster and faster every day. Renntech was able to set a new quickest and fastest 1/4 mile record for the platform with three very quick runs. The quickest elapsed time is 10.620 and the fastest trap speed is 137.04 miles per hour. These both edge out the previous record which also was set by Renntech which was a run of 10.797@130.77 at the exact same drag strip as the new record which is PBIR (Palm Beach International Raceway) in Florida. ...Published on 04-13-2013 12:11 AM
The 991 Carrera is getting some love from Chamption Motorsport courtesy of their powerkit which includes a Tubi exhaust system, GIAC ecu tuning, and BMC air filters. Gains are decent although not huge with the combination of modifications raising power to 338 horsepower at the wheels. This is a gain of 18 wheel horsepower over the baseline of a stock 991 Carrera at 320 wheel horsepower. Good output from the naturally aspirated 3.4 liter direct injected flat-6. ...Published on 04-12-2013 07:32 PM
Another great M3 versus 335i battle which is an ever so popular topic on the Bimmerboost forums. What we have here is a 135i with RB upgraded twin belonging to Burger Motorsports which has BMS JB4 tuning. The M3 is an E92 with a DCT (dual clutch transmission) and the S65 V8 is supercharged with an ESS-VT2 625 kit. The 335 likely has somewhere in the mid 500's to the wheels and the M3 is likely somewhere in the same boat. ...Published on 04-12-2013 07:03 PM
Would somebody at Audi please make up their mind on this car already? The last we heard of the all electric E-Tron R8 it set the fastest lap record on the Nurburgring for a "production" electric car with a laptime of 8:09. After that big announcement from Audi, the car was suddenly said to be put on indefinitely hold due to the cost. The batteries were apparently very expensive so Audi wanted to evaluate whether the car made any sense to produce. ...Published on 04-10-2013 06:31 AM
Interesting race here with the ever popular M3 versus 335i topic. Before this race creates a World War on BimmerBoost it really goes exactly as expected. Despite what Vishnu would have people think about "their" (FFtec) single turbo kit for the N54 it ends up just a bit slower than a DCT M3 running a basic Vortec V3si supercharger kit at 7 psi with a 91 octane pump gas tune. The 335i even has meth injection which of course it will need due to how Vishnu tends to go about masking fuel issues when trying to make big power on the N54 with the turbo kit. ...Published on 04-10-2013 04:32 AM
Some very interesting sibling rivalry to see here especially for M156 V8 63 AMG enthusiasts. Both cars here are Black Series with the W209 CLK63 AMG Black Series obviously being the older of the two using the 7G transmission with a torque converter and the W204 C63 AMG Black Series being the newer car featuring the newer 7-speed MCT Speedshift automatic which does not have a torque converter. Both cars have the M156 6.2 liter V8 although the C63 AMG Black Series has stronger engine internals and makes more power from the factory. ...Published on 04-10-2013 03:24 AM
Not exactly a fair fight between these two cars here and AudiBoost is not sure why the French magazine Motorsport decided to compare these two models. It simply is not a fair fight as the V8 powered R8 is aimed at the Carrera/Carrera S and not the V10 R8 which should be going up against the 991 Turbo which is not even out yet. They equipped the Carrera S with the X51 Powerkit which boosts power by 30 horses but then handicapped it by choosing the manual transmission version to go up against the dual clutch R8 V10. Not a fair fight. ...Published on 04-10-2013 02:45 AM
Wow, some super impressive work from Kline Innovation based out of England here for the Porsche 997 Turbo. The exhaust and manifolds/headers you see below are made out of inconel 625 grade metal which is a name for metal alloy used in high temperature applications making it perfect for an exhaust system. This metal is corrosion and oxidation resistant but difficult to work with and shape meaning someone with some serious skill is needed to make a quality exhaust using the material. ...Published on 04-09-2013 11:48 PM
Wow, some serious power here from tuner High Octane Racing which is based out of the Netherlands. The vehicle you see here is an Audi Sport Quattro designed to be an S1 replica which raced in the infamous Group B rally series. The Sport Quattro was the street car sold for homolgation purposes. The engine is the similar 2.2 liter inline-5 (rally cars had 2.1 liter motor) built by High Octane Racing for the 2013 racing season and mated to a nice sized turbocharger. ...Published on 04-09-2013 09:30 PM
Always a cool feeling to run into a hot upcoming car, in this case the 2014 BMW M3, and catching it undergoing testing before release. Spyphotos like these get big attention as they show off upcoming design elements. So what can we see here? Well, first of all the color on the car is Jerez Black which looks like it will be making a return on the F80 M3 being a popular color on the E9X M3 series. Shots of the brake disc show some very large vented rotors that hopefully have some high end calipers on them this time around. ...Published on 04-09-2013 05:03 PM
A nice result here for a supercharged R171 generation SLK 55 AMG. The car features a Kleemann supercharger, Dyno-Comp upgraded injectors, Evotech Motorsport Tuning (although Dyno-Comp claims it is their ECU upgrade/tune for some reason), and MBH headers. On 91 octane pump gas the result is 421.9 wheel horsepower on the Dyno-Comp Dyno Dynamics dyno. This is good for an increase of 148 wheel horsepower over the baseline. ...Published on 04-09-2013 12:41 AM
Great race here between two cars that are closely matched. N54 owners will obviously enjoy seeing 335 beat an exotic as part of the appeal for the BMW 335 is affordable tuning. That's the reality of it and this 335 with a JB4 tune and upgraded RB turbos is able to be the ECU tuned Gallardo LP560-4. And this Lambo is a worthy opponent considering the stock car traps just under 130 miles per hour so with a decent tune it should be above that mark. ...Published on 04-08-2013 11:10 PM
Bike versus car comparisons are always fun although the straightline comparison pretty much always goes to the bike. This one is fun though because first of all it includes the new facelifted R10 V10 Plus model. This 5.2 liter V10 R8 has the new 7-speed dual clutch transmission and a 542 horsepower tune for the V10 engine. It is the most powerful R8 available from the factory. With Audi acquiring Ducati for $1.1 billion a comparison between a Ducati bike and Audi car was naturally going to happen. ...Published on 04-08-2013 10:40 PM
Wow, it is getting difficult to keep up with all the records and milestones on the M157 5.5 liter (63 AMG bi-turbo) V8 as tuners compete for supremacy Renntech was able to set a new milestone by pushing the motor over 700 wheel horsepower on pump gas. There are other tuners in the 700's but they are currently all on race fuel 100+ octane. Renntech was able to do 725 wheel horsepower on a dynojet in STD correction on standard 93 octane pump fuel. ...Published on 04-08-2013 10:03 PM
Well this is some huge news out of the Porsche 911 aftermarket scene. In all honesty, PorscheBoost has not heard of the Al-Anabi Racing Team which is based out of the Middle East. This is quite a way to make oneself known. The company is owned by Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Thani and based out of Qatar. Their 997 uses ProEFI 128 flex fuel management as the brains of the motor and it is impressive to see the ProEFI 128 engine management system setting so many records. ...Published on 04-05-2013 07:34 PM
Gentlemen, the wait is over. As the administrator I would like to personally apologize for the wait although I think we can all agree the wait was worth it. Sure, I could have just taken a picture of the shirts and thrown them up for sale but sometimes part of the appeal of merchandise is the display. So, I made sure to get a model with the correct assets in the correct places to properly display the BimmerBoost shirts. It was a sacrifice for you the BimmerBoost community. ...
