How this guy gets away with this and also is able to put this on youtube with no punitive action is beyond BimmerBoost. In America, the the Police would be knocking on his door right away. Well, the former Soviet Republic of Georgia isn't America and one could argue about who actually has more freedom to do what they want. Things get handled a little differently over there and if you have money or know the right people you can tear through the streets like this guy does. ...Published on 01-17-2013 03:20 PM
Switzer has released a beautiful exhaust system for the new C218 CLS63 powered by the M156 twin turbo direct injected 5.5 liter V8. The exhaust is made out of 304 stainless steel and offers a black chrome finish with oval exhaust tips. Fortunately, it is not all about looks and sounds as the exhaust provides a very nice gain of 28 wheel horsepower and 25 pound-feet of torque at the wheels on a dynojet in SAE correction. ...Published on 01-17-2013 12:20 AM
Ok, you may be asking yourself, what is the Golf GTD? Well, it's a diesel Golf, you probably have that part down. But it's a higher performance version than the TDI. It's basically a GTI and a TDI combined. The result is a 168 horsepower 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel with 258 pound-feet of torque. And all that torque is available from 1750 RPM. Sounds great right? Yep, except that this car is not sold in the United States. ...Published on 01-16-2013 10:10 PM
The GermanBoost network would like to extend a warm welcome to its newest vendor 3W Distributing based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. 3W Distributing as their name implies offer luxury automotive parts and tuning distribution. They have been active in the aftermarket industry for over 20 years providing customers with parts from names such as Novitec, Brabus, AC Schnitzer, Brembo, Klassen, Wald, Techart, Mansory, and Prior Design among others. ...Published on 01-16-2013 07:31 PM
By now you should be aware the Mercedes-Benz CLA made its debut and will be coming to the United States. The question is how this model will compare to the C-Class. Benzboost has obtained the dimensions and figures for such a comparison with the W204 C-Class. The next generation W205 is around the corner and it is expected to be larger than the current W204 generation as well as more expensive making the CLA slot into the Mercedes lineup all the more smoothly as the entry level car. ...Published on 01-16-2013 06:21 PM
Bavaria, we have a problem. The new M3 is coming and it isn't packing enough of a punch under the hood. We knew it would have a turbocharged inline-6 but we did not seriously think it would only have another 30 horses on the E9X M3 with its 414 horsepower naturally aspirated V8. The new C63 AMG is rumored to have a twin turbo 4.0 liter V8 and considering the C63 AMG (in Black Series trim) already is putting out more to the wheels than this M3 will be rated at the crank let alone what the new turbo C63 AMG will put out the new M3 is going to get smacked around badly if this is true. ...Published on 01-16-2013 05:40 PM
Porsche is flat out on a tear. How well are they doing? How about 141,075 cars sold worldwide. That is a different of plus 18.7% versus their 2011 sales figures which were 118,868. Sales in the United States alone for 2012 were up 20.7% with 35,043 units versus 29,023 for 2011. And how about that December sales figure in the United States? Up a whopping 61% with 2,952 units sold versus 1,834 for the same period in 2011. Wow. ...Published on 01-16-2013 12:45 PM
There was some concern that there may not be much room to gain with a tune on the new M5/M6 with their S63TU motors. After all, the S63TU in those cars versus the S63 in the X5M/X6M has more boost at 22 psi versus 17 psi and higher compression at 10.0:1 versus 9.3:1. Fortunately, there is still some room in the higher strung S63TU as Gintani demonstrated with their Stage I dyno tune on 91 octane California pump gas. ...Published on 01-16-2013 03:01 AM
Much. Respect. This is the kind of thing AudiBoost is all about. The car here belongs to speeding-g60 and below you will find all that has gone into making one of the most ridiculously impressive 1.8T (the engine is stroked but started as a 1.8T) powered drag cars. Who says a small Audi four banger can't be fast? How about 9.34@153 in the 1/4 mile? Incredibly impressive and more than worthy of respect. The full build list with specifications, videos, dynos, and time slips is below. ...Published on 01-16-2013 02:42 AM
This is somewhat awkward. BMW will sell a 320i in North America. It will be cheaper than a 328i. The thing is, it will have the exact same motor, the N20 turbo direct injected four cylinder, just with 60 less horsepower. By all accounts thus far, there are no hardware changes to the motor. It seems it is only different software for the 320i. So that begs the question, why even opt for the 328i? To have the factory 240 horsepower with a warranty? ...Published on 01-15-2013 11:11 PM
This is a race... of sorts. It shows the difference between a fast car and a really fast car. The Gintani supercharged DCT M3 is a quick car by any stretch of the imagination capable of turning ~130 mile per hour 1/4 mile trap speeds and providing 600 horsepower to the wheels. Definitely fast. But the Mercedes it runs against here happens to hold the record for the World's Fastest Mercedes-Benz with a trap speed of 144 miles per hour. In other words, a mismatch. ...Published on 01-15-2013 07:50 PM
Ok, so here's a super high power 997 Turbo from EVOMS who is a tuner located in Arizona. They are known for high power Porsches so even though PorscheBoost does not have a dyno from this car to support the 1500 horsepower claim they have enough credibility that the figure is believable although it would still be nice to see it proven. Regardless, the car is taken on the airstrip and it basically just lights up its tires the whole time. ...Published on 01-15-2013 05:30 PM
Here we go, an exhaust system for the new Audi RS5 from Milltek. Like many high end exhausts these days it comes with valves so you can keep it more quiet when you like and press a button to open the valves for a louder/racier tone. The valve system is compatible with the factory Audi Drive select buttons. The system is from the headers back and definitely gives the car a very nice and racecar like tone for the high revving V8 especially with the valves open. ...Published on 01-15-2013 02:14 PM
Seems ALMS is letting BMW get away with bending the rules. BMW will race in 2013 and will race in the ALMS GT class with the Z4 GTE. It was obvious BMW was going to make some kind of change when they started complaining last year after the Mosport Grand Prix that the new technical regulations were slowing down the M3 GT race cars too much especially in the straightaways. Supposedly the regulations were costing BMW four miles per hour. ...Published on 01-15-2013 02:41 AM
The Porsche Panamera is getting a facelift for 2014. It will consist of the typical minor cosmetic changes including the front and rear lights as well as the front and rear bumpers. The interior will get some minor tweaks as well. The real piece of news though is a rumor that the Panamera S will drop its current 4.8 liter 400 horsepower direct injected naturally aspirated V8 for a twin turbo V6 powerplant with similar power but more torque. ...Published on 01-14-2013 08:22 PM
Volkswagen was rumored to reveal their new 7-seat SUV at the Detroit Auto Show and they sort of did, in concept form. Introducing the Volkswagen CrossBlue Concept offering 3rd row seating. The concept car features a plug-in hybrid diesel powertrain with the ability to travel 14 miles per hour on electric only power at up to 75 miles per hour. Output of the 2.0 liter turbo diesel and the two electric motors is good for 305 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. ...Published on 01-14-2013 07:31 PM
Wow, tough coming coming up for words for this one other than FAIL. So a guy takes his E30 to an empty parking lot. Asks his friend to record him looking cool drifting his E30 around. What could possibly go wrong? Well how about hitting one of the light poles straight on and ruining the car? The video comes from Cincinnati and the description of the video is pretty funny with "Cincinnati Drift King" poking some fun at this misfortune. ...Official: Audi reveals the 2014 RS7 at the Detroit Auto Show - 560 horsepower 4.0 TFSI Twin Turbo V8
Published on 01-14-2013 02:31 PM
Here is what we all knew was coming, the new 2014 Audi RS7. This makes the for the third of the four Audi RS models Audi stated were set to be revealed this year. The other two being the new C7 Audi RS6 and the Audi RS5. That leaves one model left which is an SUV and which will either be Q3 or Q5 based. Just like the RS6 the new RS7 has 560 horsepower from the 4.0 TFSI Twin Turbo direct injected motor which is mated to an 8-speed automatic. ...Published on 01-14-2013 02:04 PM
Introducing the new entry level Mercedes-Benz in the USA, the CLA-Class. A very nice design inside and out and a worthy car to slot in under the C-Class which has gotten bigger and more expensive. The CLA has some impressive engineering in it sporting a .23 coefficient of drag. No, that is not a typo, this is a slippery design. And yes, it is front wheel drive, but with available 4Matic all wheel drive there should be few complaints. ...Published on 01-14-2013 01:06 PM
Well, that was fast. The design of the next generation F15 X5 has already been leaked out. Spyphotos were just posted last month and at the time speculation was that the X5 would gain some girth. It sure looks like it has gained some size. Production is slated to start August of this year so expect it for on dealer lots as a 2014 model toward the end of the year. Motor and driveline options will likely carry over from the current E53 X5. ...
