Mercedes will be producing an electric version of the SLS for 2013. This is the future gentlemen, electric cars. Maybe it isn't all a bad thing as the car produces 650 pound-feet of torque. It needs it, as it weighs 881 pounds more than the gasoline version. ...

The Top Gear BBC site has put up the series 13, episode 3 video of where they pit a W212 E63 AMG vs. a Camaro SS. Not exactly two cars you think of in the same class but two heavy cars with big V8's. Top Gear was quite enamored with the Benz, not quite so much with the Camaro. We certainly see a bit of what they mean, although we are talking about a car that is basically double the price of the other. Check out the Video on Top Gear's Site. ...

BenzInsider is reporting that Mercedes has announced through its AMG division it intends to build a rival to the Audi RS3 and BMW 1M Coupe based on the A-Class. We have not seen an announcement from Mercedes confirming this so take it as a rumor for now. However, what is presented is quite interesting with a 320 hp A-Class AMG hatchback to go toe to toe. We say bring it on, and if it looks as good as the rendering and performs as well as the competition it will be a hit. ...

Singh Autosport is claiming they are the first tuner to program the S63 V8 twin turbo in the X6 M: "We were the first company to program the BMW X6M in North America." This is a completely false claim as OE Tuning has already proven to have tuned the motor months ago and several other tuners have programmed it as well. Singh Autosport is making this claim in December and they do not even have a dyno to back it up, just a picture of a laptop sitting in an X6. It seems not many people read the Singh blog so it has not been an issue but at BimmerBoost we like to keep tuners honest. Singh, please stop making inaccurate claims and let's see a dyno to prove you have actually done something, ok? ...

We saw this car in person at SEMA and photos do not do it justice. It truly is an attention grabbing and high quality SL body kit. The car simply commanded a ton of attention and for good reason, it is amazing. The widebody houses a 375 wheel in back... yes, you read correctly, 375/20/21! Check out the high quality photos done by AutoTalent at RCH designs in Huntington Beach. ...

Renntech is offering a throttle body upgrade for the M156 AMG motors. The throttle body is 82mm and offers an increase in flow of 22% over the standard throttle body. The performance increase is a claimed +11 hp and +8 lb-ft of torque. The upgrade is completely bolt-on but it is priced at an eye popping $3,945. Dinan pricing isn't exactly cheap but they sell 10 throttle bodies for the S85 V10 for less money than this. Contact Renntech if interested. ...

The SLS has really grown on us. The styling, the motor, the doors, everything makes it hard not to like. The car is not just a pretty face as this video shows. The GT3 racing version is a serious performer on the track, worth watching for the sound of the motor alone. ...

BMW's hybrid, green "sports car" will reportedly cost around the $200k mark. That is a lot of dough for what is being touted as a supercar. With a hybrid drivetrain and a focus on efficiency, we just don't see this offering the performance a car in the $200k supercar segment should be. Remember, this is a hybrid diesel powertrain with horsepower in the low to mid 300 range. We will not judge it yet and wait for the final product but BMW's sales and marketing director is stating the car will, "redefine how we look at high-performance sports cars." If it doesn't perform like the other $200k offering, chances are we will be looking at other sports cars. ...

SpeedDriven has announced that they have a billet wheel upgrade for the M275 Mercedes V12 twin turbo. This upgrade is available for every iteration of the twin turbo V12, CL600, S65, SL 65 Black Series, etc. There are no dyno graphs available yet but we are wondering how they are doing this exactly. It has been said it is difficult to modify the turbos due to the turbos being integrated into the cast manifold. The stock turbos are K24 turbos which are well known in the Porsche world and often modified. We look forward to further details, the upgrade retails for $5990. ...

We all know that BMW changed their stance on the 1M coupe being a very limited model. BMW is determined to up production to meet demand and sell a good number of the cars. Taking this into account, we decided to show a 1M Convertible which is not so far removed from reality. There is a good chance for BMW to produce this model and if they are going to milk the M brand they might as well go all the way. Check out the pics! ...

MKB has introduced what they are calling the P1000 model. This is an SL with 1000 hp supposedly. They are also stating the car hit 350 km/h at the test center in Papenburg, Germany. Unlike G-power, MKB does back up their top speed claim with a video which you can watch below. We have not seen any dyno charts but the MPH hit sure does a lot of substantiate their power claims. The conversion entails new turbos, cams, and tuning to go with it. We would like to see details on these turbos as well as how MKB installed them. Full specs below: ...

If you are a BMW enthusiast, even in the slightest, you will appreciate a quality build like this. DCR's E30 M3 is simply one of the cleanest and best built custom turbo examples we have ever seen. The compression of the 2.5 liter motor was dropped to 8.1:1 and at just 9 psi it put down 265 whp. Impressive? Oh yes, and just take a look at that engine bay. Click read more to see the mod list and make sure you scroll down for the entire build history! ...

We are close to a full reveal of the new C-class coupe. What we are wondering is if any of the TT V8's will find their way under the hood and what the curb weight will be. An AMG version of this car will no doubt make for an excellent rival for the E92 M3 if not potentially eclipse it if Mercedes decides to give it one of the newer powerplants. It would be a safer bet to say it will get the M156 V8 which would be shared with the C63. We will know more in January when it is officially unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. ...
