The E39 M5 here belongs to BimmerBoost member 930chas. The 2JZ-GTE supra motor was rebuilt by E-Shift Performance and has been set up for 93 octane as well as E85. The motor was recently tuned by Justin Nenni of Tuning Concepts and has put down some very impressive numbers. On 93 octane the car dyno'd 613 wheel horsepower and on E85 it put down an eye opening 848 wheel horsepower. Impressive? Yes indeed. Arkym has released their body upgrades for the F10 5 series with the M-sport aero package. Their offering consists of a carbon lip spoiler ($1199), carbon rear diffuser ($999), and a trunk lip spoiler also in carbon ($799). You may remember that Audi is producing the R8 GT which is a limited lightweight R8. That is a coupe model and now Audi has decided to produce a spyder version of the R8 GT as well. Like the coupe the cab will be limited to about 333 units. We expect it to have the same specs only for the weight to differ slightly. Here is our take on the upcoming AMG SLK with the help of our graphic design artist Wild-Speed. We all know an AMG SLK is coming as it has been testing. What we do not know is what motor it will have as there have been many rumors ranging from the M157 twin turbo V8 to a special naturally aspirated 5.5 liter V8. Prior Design in Germany has opened North American offices and with it they have announced their R230 widebody kit for US customers. This is probably the best looking widebody we have seen looking aggressive without going overboard. It is available for all R230 SL models and will update any SL to the facelift headlights. We are waiting on pricing details and will update this post when we receive them. Mid 12's for a 5200 pound SUV is pretty darn impressive. It isn't all about acceleration either, pulling .91 g on the skidpad. MotorTrend likes the SUV overall calling it impressive while making sure to point out it sure is hefty. They also mention that the idea of an M SUV goes against many of the M principles which it is nice to see a mainstream publication say that. Here it is, the real thing, the new Audi Q3. The small SUV is based on the VW Tiguan platform. The rear has a lot of Q5 in it and the front headlights looks very modern and edgy. The interior is flat out beautiful as we have come to expect from Audi. We don't know if a diesel will be available in the US but the 2.0T motor is a sure thing. So, we are all familiar with the E92 M3 GTS. A lightweight, focused, 4.4 liter DCT only M3. German publication Auto Motor Und Sport reports that an E90 M3 GTS 4 door is coming. The lightweight E90 M3 reported on earlier is actually a GTS. Specs are stated as a 4.4 liter 440 horsepower motor with DCT transmission. This car will likely not make it to the USA either. We wonder how much of a market there really is a 4 door GTS and how it can possibly be larger than the market for the E92 GTS in the USA. ...Published on 04-12-2011 10:24 PM
German tuner Wheelsandmore has tackled the new CLS63 AMG. We are a bit disappointed with their results though, only 580 horsepower? This doesn't even really improve much upon the performance pack offered for the M157 twin turbo V8 from Mercedes. Eurocharged set the standing mile record for the BMW M5 and S85 with a run of 170.4 mile per hour. The mod list for the car is as follows: custom Eurocharged tune, Eurocharged pulley, agency power headers, Eisenmann race exhaust, custom mid section, RPI scoops, RPI oil cooler, and filters. German tuner Prior-Design has released new photos of their Audi R8 body kit. The kit features parts that fit all R8 models. The front lip and the side skirts being pieces that are interchangeable with any R8 model. Most of you saw that Benzboost broke the story last week on Evosport's debt and failure to deliver parts to customers. We quoted this debt as in the hundreds of thousands but now have exact up to date figures that were released by Evosport themselves. Where and why would they reveal these figures? Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher finished the Malaysian GP in 12th and 9th place respectively. The struggles for the Petronas team continue in 2011 but the Mclaren-Mercedes team finished has a 2nd place finish thanks to Jenson Button. Both Petronas cars ran without issue and Schumacher scored the first points for his team this season. We like Fifth Gear, we like Fifth Gear a lot. Not only because it isn't filled with a bunch of meaningless fluff like Top Gear, but because we like watching Vicki drive. She certainly likes the way the car drives and how well balanced it is. Hey, she says it was a man she would marry it so seems the GTS is a pretty damn good car. German tuner PPI Design has announced their 800 horsepower bi-supercharger package for the R8 V8. The supercharger packages features twin "R48" centrifugal blowers. Internals are strengthened and compression is dropped in the motor as you can imagine. 9.2:1 compression pistons, forged rods, as well as an upgraded valvetrain are included. EDO Competition has create the Black Arrow SLR which gets its name from the flat black paint it wears. The motor has been modified to put out 722 horsepower with a new pulley, tune, exhaust, headers, intake, and high flow cats. The gains are not supported by any dyno or performance figures. Lightweight and powered by a 4.4 liter V8, this is what an M version of the new Z4 should be if BMW ever produces one. The 2010 Z4 GT3 did quite well winning the Dubai 24 hours against stiff competition including the SLS GT3. For the 2011 model BMW changed the engine management as well as optimized the aerodynamics. The previous C63 Black Series spyphotos we showed you last month were of the sedan. This brought into question if they were focusing on the sedan or if the coupe had been abandoned. It is quite clear now Mercedes is working on Black Series versions of both. Photographers did look under the hood and it seems the 571 horsepower performance package version of the M157 twin turbo 5.5 liter V8 may make it to production. If so, game over, we bow in respect, and sign us up. ...
