Yesterday, 11:21 PMSticky created an article Introducing the Vorsteiner body kit / body pieces for the F12, F13, and Gran Coupe BMW 6-Series in BMW Blog, Performance, Tuning, Motorsport, and Modification NewsHere is the Vorsteiner styling program consisting of add-on body pieces for the new F12, F13, and Gran Coupe 6-Series. Vorsteiner of course starts with a carbon fiber front lip then adds carbon sides sideblades under the skirts, a trunk spoiler, and a rear diffuser. This particular F13 6-Series is wearing a set of 21 inch VSE-003 forged monoblock aluminum wheels to round out the look. The overall look is great offering more aggression but without being overdone or tracky. No pricing information has been released yet but expect it shortly. The body pieces will fit all the current 6-Series models. Well done Vorsteiner, pictures below.5 replies | 81 view(s)

Yesterday, 08:32 PMSticky created an article Volkswagen Motorsport freezes development of the WRC Polo R to give competitors a chance in Volkswagen Blog, Performance, Tuning, Motorsport, and Modification NewsWow, talk about being too strong for your own good. Volkswagen is simply kicking ass and taking names with the new Polo R WRC car. The Volkswagen Polo R has secured four wins in just six events. The Ford and Citroen entries reach the end of their homologation cycle this year which will require a new car. Volkswagen has been working on a new car as well but this would likely push M-Sport out of the WRC as they will not be able to compete. The Volkswagen team motorsport principal Jost Capito stated the following, "We talked about what is best for the future and what’s the best to keep the level of entries up in the championship, and we found that the best way is to stay with the cars we have for this year." M-Sport responded back with, "We are very grateful for this. As you can imagine for the likes of myself and Yves (Matton, Citroen team principal), it’s a real positive move. We know we can still be competitive next year without having to spend millions on development." Nice of VW to back off a bit to give others a chance? Absolutely. But just goes to show VW could crush the competition at any moment if they wanted to.0 replies | 52 view(s)

Head cracks under stress above 331 pound-feet of torque? in BMW Blog, Performance, Tuning, Motorsport, and Modification NewsI call bs on this to be honest. I had one of the pretty well known euro tuners (who makes downpipes) claim that without a flex section in the downpipes the heads would 100% crack on the N54 :) how many are running downpipes with flex sections in them again?43 replies | 667 view(s)

Head cracks under stress above 331 pound-feet of torque? in BMW Blog, Performance, Tuning, Motorsport, and Modification NewsI think some good points are being made....how can they run a n54 to 600+ hp on stock turbos? Hmmm. If they did swap out turbos to run up the hp, why would they even do this? They would have to make a lot of changes just to make it work.... I call bullshit also Maybe they estimate the n54 being able to make 600+ but it's only a estimation43 replies | 667 view(s) -

Yesterday, 06:27 PMVargasTurboTech commented on article BMW 2.0 liter four cylinder N20 turbo motor already having issues? Head cracks under stress above 331 pound-feet of torque? in BMW Blog, Performance, Tuning, Motorsport, and Modification NewsOk thats all well and good, so if this guy is such good friends with said testers, then what turbo / turbos were they running? And there already people making more then those numbers he claims are fail point and have been doing so for a while and the engine has been fine. As I said, still calling bs on this. BMW is not going to produce a motor that fails at those levels, that is my opinion, and is just that opinion. But until he can tell us some more details, what he is saying doesn't really add up.43 replies | 667 view(s)

Yesterday, 06:24 PMGeorge Smooth commented on article BMW 2.0 liter four cylinder N20 turbo motor already having issues? Head cracks under stress above 331 pound-feet of torque? in BMW Blog, Performance, Tuning, Motorsport, and Modification NewsMore often than not the R&D guys use one off turbos for different testing. The first N54 test mule was a single turbo. The same happens software wise. There are many internal files with various power levels. Sometimes these leak and it's the beginning step for most tuners in the evolution of the tunes. You can see with the F10 M5 that most guys are using a "press file" with similar gains as it's what is being bounced around. Soon a stronger file will come out as it leaks across tuning houses. SAme is going to happen with F Series N20 with a 230whp 320i file being the first to hit the steers.43 replies | 667 view(s) -
