    BPC (Bimmer Performance Center) is a relatively new vendor on BimmerBoost. You may have read about their awesome M57 diesel tuning packages or their new F80/F82 S55 engine tuning recently. They put together this technical video on the N54 and N52 blocks before officially coming on board and it is well worth your time. The N54 engine block is often discussed in the forums. If you have sixteen minutes to spare watch the video below and learn a few things. If not, BimmerBoost will summarize it for you: * The N52 block includes magnesium for weight savings. N54 has steel liners. * The N54 is built more for strength than weight. * The cooling pipes are located in different areas. * The N52 does not have oil drains for turbos as it is naturally aspirated. * The N54 has a smaller bore of 84 mm. N52 is 85 mm. * The N54 has a longer stroke of 89.6 mm. The N52 88 mm. * The N54 has a smaller bore for more cylinder material. * The bottom end design is identical. * Forged crank on the N54 and cast crank on the N52. * 8-bolt main on the N54, 6-bolt on N52. * N54 cylinder head bolt is 11 mm. N52 cylinder head bolt is 10 mm. Both have 9 mm bolts in cylinders 6 and 1. * Both rods are forged. N52 has smaller 8 mm rod bolt. * N54 has larger 22 mm wrist pin to the N52 20 mm. * N52 is higher compression with N52B25 11.0.0:1 and N52B30 10.7:1. * N52 head gasket has larger cooling passages. * N52 head will physically fit an N54.

    The new Ferrari 812 Superfast is a rocket. Obviously a car with 789 horsepower is not going to be slow but the 812 Superfast is not a forced induction brute. It has a naturally aspirated 6.5 liter V12 that revs to 8500 rpm. The number of naturally aspirated motors on the market gets smaller every single day so it is great for a company like Ferrari to keep selling them especially considering their lauded history with NA V12's. Just how quick is the 812 Superfast? Well, take a look in the video below. 200 kph is only 124 miles per hour so the car does not even stretch its legs through a full 1/4 mile. Suffice it to say it is quicker than the F12 it replaces which traps 130. Oh, it also sounds glorious.

    This obliterates the old record and makes for the first 8-second Gen V Dodge Viper. Nth Moto is known for doing the best built motor Gen V Dodge Viper twin turbo V10 builds in the business. They were making well over 1400 horsepower to the wheels last year and set the 1/2 mile record as well. As for how much power they are making to go over 180 miles per hour in the 1/4 mile that is anyone's guess. They are doing E85 tuning now on their Motec setups and of course BoostAddict would love to see a graph. The real proof is in the slip though: 8.250 @ 180.77... WOW! The only nitpick? This is an automatic conversion and not a manual. Understandable for getting the absolutely quickest 1/4 mile times. The previous Gen V record holder also ran an automatic transmission. Absolutely absurdly quick however you feel about the transmission swap.

    Ive looked through this thread and the ncat10 originally had an auto and added an M3 diff and they don't come in the right ratio for the 335i DCT. Unless he got a new ring and pinion to suit how did he get around the issue ?

    The Lexus RC-F and GS-F quite frankly need a supercharger. The tired naturally aspirated 5.0 liter V8 under the hood can not compete with its German competition. Even modern turbo six-cylinder motors are making far more power and torque. Just look at the baseline figure. 401 horsepower at the wheels. BMW topped this with the 5.0 liter S85 V10 over a decade ago. As did Mercedes-AMG with their M156 6.2 liter V8. Lexus is over a generation behind. Fortunately, for Lexus owner who do not want to get embarrassed (they still will lose badly to a tuned E63, M5, M3, M4, RS7, or you name it) RR-Racing has a beautiful supercharger kit. The Rotrex centrifugal blower ups output to 568 horsepower and 451 lb-ft of torque at the wheels: A massive gain. However, to put it in relatable terms this is less power than a BMW M3 4.0 liter S65 V8 outputs with a blower. A lot less power. It's better than nothing though and at least makes it so the RC-F or GS-F look like they belong in a modern performance discussion. RR-Racing's engineering work also deserves tremendous praise. We are excited to announce that after over a year in development and testing, multiple track days, desert testing, and over 10,000 miles of punishment and tuning, we are finally ready to release our RC F/GS F Supercharger kit! Our goal for this kit was to maintain stock drivability and reliability, while creating smooth, seamless, and unrelenting supercar levels of power that these great car deserves. RR670 Kit Specifications: - Power: For the base "RR670" kit, our customers can expect to make about 670hp at the crank, or 560 to 570whp (wheel horsepower on a Dynojet dyno, SAE correction -- see Dyno result chart in the product photos gallery) at approximately 6psi peak boost pressure, 93 pump gas, equipped with standard PPE headers and a high flow dual exhaust. - Tuned ECU: We have logged countless development hours perfecting our ECU tune for the RC F for ultimate reliability and drivability. No piggybacks or other BS! We have extensively developed the mapping of the stock ECU, modifying literally hundreds of maps and adding additional functionality to the fueling system that allows us to support up to 570whp without fuel system modifications. - Supercharger: Rotrex Supercharger, c38-91 (largest Rotrex SC). Rotrex SC's are extremely efficient and quiet due to their planetary drive system which spins up to 90,000 rpm, much like a turbocharger. - Dedicated Drive System: Rather than using the accessory belt to drive the SC, we designed a dedicated drive system that allows us to achieve the necessary belt tension for a reliable SC drive, without overstressing the alternator, water pump, and AC bearings. - Custom Harmonic Crank Damper: There are some overpriced Japanese SC's on the market for the ISF/RCF that eliminate the factory harmonic damper crank pulley and replace it with a simple machined aluminum pulley. We find this simply unacceptable! Working in conjunction with ATI Performance, we developed a custom tuned harmonic damper than drives the SC belt. The ATI damper has been specially developed to dampen the harmonics of the 2UR-GSE engine at high horsepower levels for the ultimate in engine reliability. - Billet Tensioner System: Most SC kits on the market use OEM belt tensioners, but we took that a step further by developing a billet belt tensioner that is both more reliable and is able to apply significantly higher belt tension than conventional off the shelf tensioners. For added reliability we use Gates Racing Kevlar drive belts and our own double bearing billet idler pulleys. - Dual "Big Bubba" billet blow off Valves: We use not one, but TWO Turbosmart "Big Bubba" 2" blow off valves. Adequate venting is essential for SC responsiveness, reliability, and drivability. - Custom Air/Air Intercooler: We use a large 4.5"x12"x10" intercooler core. These intercoolers are extremely high quality and are manufactured in the USA by Bell Intercoolers. - Genuine Carbon Fiber Intake Tubing: All visible intake tubing is made from genuine twill weave carbon fiber for an amazing look and function!

    Massive gains here for an RK Tunes custom dyno tuned F82 M4. This car is tuned on 93 octane pump gas. It also certainly sounds like it has exhaust modifications and BimmerBoost will get clarification on the full mod list. Regardless, the gains over the baseline figures of 431 wheel horsepower and 448 lb-ft of wheel torque are massive: These are Dynocom figures which in BimmerBoost's experience read a bit higher than a Dynojet. The torque figure is approaching 600 lb-ft at the wheels which is incredible. The torque curve does take a nosedive toward redline but that is the reality of BMW turbo motors.
