      We don't have many details on this X5 as Mansory has not provided any official details. As a matter of fact, Mansory does not even claim to have any packages for BMW's. Yet, here we have photos of a Mansory kit on an X5 M. We wish we had more details of this mystery X5 M and the tuning package from Mansory, but this all we were able to find.       The trend of snapped half shafts (axles) on the entire 335i & 135i platforms has been increasing rapidly since many people have surpassed the 400 rwhp / 400 rwtq mark. To be honest, the trend is a bit disturbing. We have members on the forums who have broken three sets of half shafts on their car! Some refuse to track their car because they fear breaking more half shafts and they don’t want the embarrassing “tow of shame” home. I will even admit I have been very concerned about slapping on some drag radials or slicks because I just didn’t want to deal with breaking mine. We have seen failures with both the half shaft’s bar and within the inner universal CV. It has even been hinted that one of the tuners snapped his half shafts during a run at the track. This is clearly the single weakest link we have seen thus far on the drive train of all N54s. If we are to move forward with big power on the N54 then it means we have to identify the weak links and find fixes.       The tuner Enco Exclusive gives us their take on the BMW X6. They gives the car a widebody look with modified fenders and sideskirts. The front and rear bumpers are modified as well, name the rear, to account for the interesting exhaust. The custom exhaust is moved up to under the hatch in a style that somewhat resembles the Carrera GT. We don't really feel it works on the X6 but it is different.       The Rahal-Letterman racing team managed to finish on the podium yet again in the ALMS series. BMW has finished on the podium in every single race this season. The problem is they finished in third place and Patrick Long/Joerg Bergmeister in the Porsche GT3 won the race. This means Porsche will take over first place. Patrick Long and Joerg Bermeister have our respect as they simply have been the best drives in ALMS this season and have taken a couple races from BMW. Unfortunately, the number 90 m3 did not finish the race due to a collision. It all comes down to the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on October 2nd.       Lumma Design has revealed their body kit for the F10 5 series. The kit includes modified front and rear fascia as well as a carbon fiber hood and spoiler. The fenders are also modified for a wider stance. Lumma does include tuning for any of the turbo powerplants along with an exhaust.       An ESS supercharged E39 M5 owner took his car to specialty Z to get a dyno and the results were not exactly what one would expect. Hitting 7.3 psi of boost with DIN correction the car only puts up 472 whp through an aftermarket exhaust. ESS portrays the car as over 500 whp on 6 psi through the stock exhaust.       Over the past couple of weeks on various forums, Powerchip has engaged in a smear campaign against Gintani and OE Tuning. This behavior is a violation of our vendor rules and simply will no longer be tolerated. BimmerBoost will not serve as a battleground for supporting vendors to fight amongst themselves. This fighting was largely one sided with Powerchip continually attacking the two previously mentioned vendors as well as BimmerBoost users who were former customers. We will not allow this to continue especially considering that Powerchip has failed to pay its supporting vendor fees and has exhausted BimmerBoost generosity and patience.       MotorTrend Comparison Videos- Mustang GT vs. M3 - Drag Race and Road Course

      MotorTrend did a very interesting comparison pitting the Mustang GT with the new 5.0 V8 vs. the venerable BMW M3. The two cars are surprisingly evenly matched. The Mustang did have the higher trap speed in the 1/4 but the elapsed times were neck and neck. Around the road course, the M3 takes the victory in yet another closely contested matchup. Price is clearly in the favor of the Mustang and Ford has done a commendable job. Ultimately, MotorTrend picks the M3 as the better car and we can not disagree, the M3 is better. However, the Mustang GT is truly impressive and a worthy oppponent. Ford has really stepped up their game. ...
